Not sure if this was mentioned, but I am still a bit shocked about Josi not winning the Norris so I went back and looked. Josi finished with more first place ballots, but ended up third on a lot of ballots where Makar was 1st or 2nd and amazingly 2 dumbasses put him 4th. The craziest statistic is, 1 guy left him off completely. Makar was on 195/195 ballots, Josi was on 194/195. Guess who the one idiot is? Dom Lucycysyfsyzzfycnyycn from the Athletic. The guy who makes all the models to determine who will win every year. So my question to Dom is ....what's the model on your credibility WAR%?

All of this is irrelevant.

I've been told and time again that Adam Fox is the best defenseman on the planet...

I remember when this guy was drafted in 2010.

I was vehemently against drafting him, but I remember some intense conversations around these boards, because there was a number of people who really seemed to want him for us at spot 5.

When Niederreiter's name was utimately called, he wasn't the guy I really wanted (had been hoping hard for Fowler), but I was absolutely relieved that we didn't hear Connolly's name called.

Weird accusation since the voting results can easily be found. Dom had Josi 3rd.

Also, I remember posters in the not too distant past suggesting that Connolly would be a good pickup. Now he's had a buyout and is going to Europe!

Dang you are right. I printed it and highlighted every Josi vote. There was supposedly somebody who left him off and I was trying to find it. But you are right. When I printed it, the text is so small it's for sure and exercise in patience lol and I missed that one. So who is the one who left him off...maybe the article I read was incorrect...

Edit: Found it!! Different Athletic guy..Scott Powers

At EP Rinkside...

Did you know about this @SI ?
Haha!
I did not know about this.

My OP was about exploring a trade for Bailey to Anaheim. The 3 different trades to Anaheim show different value.

I wanted to see where the main board felt a trade for Bailey would land - this was just before the Kadri signing. It was misinterpreted by many. It was not my best work - poorly written and lacked clarity.

If I remember correctly he had a hip issue that later required surgery never a good thing for a young person.

He had to have been joking, no shot he thought you tried trading him three times

PTO season is under way.

Danny DeKeyser-PTO with the Canucks
Calvin deHaan-PTO with the Hurricanes

Amazing that deHaan is dead set on returning to Carolina, after they pulled the rug out from under him and traded him after his first year with the team last time.

And that first season, I believe the only guy he knew was Skinner, who is long gone.

I was always wondering if he wasn't that bright. Suspicions confirmed.

It might just be that Carolina was the only team willing to give him a PTO?

The guy needs a job. I guess he’s willing to swallow his pride.

I find it hard to believe that there wasn't another team, with a weaker defense corps, giving him a more realistic shot to stick, that wouldn't give him a PTO.

Vancouver was rumored to be in the mix, before they turned to Dekeyser.

If anything, I know he has mentioned that he wanted to permanently settle in the Raleigh area, before they shipped him out the first time.

Seems like a guy who is looking for a certain lifestyle and wants to slide into retirement in that area.

Not a fan of that type of player. And still not a fan of how he left. Choosing a couple extra dollars over the Isles.

He could have stayed and been part of something good, so the Isles wouldn't have had to turn to Hickey out of desperation.

But "it's not about the money " these guys say when we know it's ALWAYS about the money

Liked deHaan, especially his dry wit. However think he would have been a whipping boy here with his health and being in and out of the lineup.
