Strange how I haven't heard a hockey nerd berate the PLD contract, yet was so fast to call the Horvat trade a "lose lose"

huh

They will skimp on goaltending and defense. Outscoring your mistakes is the name of their game.
I think this was a decision they had to make, I'd guess Marner is on the way out eventually. And given all the reasons Tavares went to Toronto, one would think he's not in a position to demand big money to resign. Obviously one mistake was resigning Tavares. The flip side mistake was not dealing Marner sooner. They could have gotten much more for him than they'll end up getting.

It isn't just Dubas.

Dubas already set the table for a bad bargaining position. Willy going to UFA and having a career year just pushed more chips in his corner for leverage.

TML are making gobs of cash on this team, letting Willy walk or trading him undermines that. As you can see, the fans are perfectly happy with the team, they rationalize why the lose in the playoffs every year, then the 82 game gameshow starts again and they don’t mind because the team is exciting for 82 games, not so much for like the 7 after that.

Love this trade, Philly loses the better asset because he doesn't want to play for them (I personally love this, eat shit Flyers) and gets a talented RHD who is undersized and injury prone. Drysdale is a great skater though, but I'm seeing Ghost 2.0 or Krug 2.0, except RH shot. Gauthier looks like he would be a bitch to play against despite Flyer fans copium saying he's low IQ (hehe), glad he's out of the division. Win for us.

How the hell do they plan on icing 20 players a night when 20% of the skaters are taking up more than 50% of the cap?

There’s gotta be a trade at some point. 4 players making 11 mil (or just shy of it) on the same team is some pre salary cap nonsense

All that and they have one more point than the Islanders.

Has anyone noticed we’ve got the wrong Aho and now Gauthier? How can we forget Bellows and even Lindros in yesteryear.

Sooo close.

On an AHL TRYOUT contract, not even a full contract, for the Toronto Marlies . . . and Kiefer Bellows is their leading goal scorer . . . Dangle brings this up to have a laugh at the Isles, since there wasn't anything else for him to be happy about

Toronto and LA are up to 8 OTL and Boston is up to 9. So just one question, is anybody calling them the Toronto, LA and Boston Loser Points yet? Or does that only apply to the Isles?

I think Seattle has 9 OTL as well
