OTT waived Jacob Bernard-Docker and Egor Sokolov. Seem like two guys who could get claimed, no?
I'd take a claim on Bernard-Docker honestly. Sokolov is redundant on this roster.OTT waived Jacob Bernard-Docker and Egor Sokolov. Seem like two guys who could get claimed, no?

CRAP i forgot he's a RHDThe Isles seem flush at RD.
I liked Bernard-Docker in his draft year. We are set on RHD on the big club. What about in the Bridge? If one of our RHD gets hurt, who is the replacement? Hutton? Correct me if I am wrong, Aho, Bolduc, Salo, Odellius, and George are all LHD. Hutton struggled last pre season game and fair to him he wasn't the only one.CRAP i forgot he's a RHD
I'm gonna say it's not very prudent to claim a guy on waivers... just to put him back on waivers.I liked Bernard-Docker in his draft year. We are set on RHD on the big club. What about in the Bridge?

Probably not going to happen as there is little cap and roster flexibility and IF the Isles look at the waiver wire, other options may present themselves in the next couple of days.
Thanks
Do SOMETHING Lou!I'm gonna say it's not very prudent to claim a guy on waivers... just to put him back on waivers.
Thanks for the friendly reminder of the process. Can't pick a guy up from waivers and stash him in the AHL unless he goes through waivers again.
Nah. Run it back again. Some of these guys have been here so long they feel like part of the family.Do SOMETHING Lou!

It was a joke.Nah. Run it back again. Some of these guys have been here so long they feel like part of the family.
So was mine!It was a joke.
But while we're at it, Romanov (top 4 D), Engval and Horvat (top 6 forwards) are all new acquisitions who have yet to play a full season with NYI. The narrative that that it has been the same team for 5 seasons is incorrect.
"Run it back again" is the new "reading between the lines." Detached from reality.
In another thread, i think they said the rules are different. Teams keep their waiver priority until 11/1, regardless of transactions, if i remember it properly.A couple of interesting names around the waiver wires. There will be more.
Still, people keep mentioning "why not get a guy for free?" around the boards and social media.
Somehow I think people forget that unless you're already below your - what is it, 23-man roster? - you've got to place a current player on your roster on waivers if you pluck a guy off of waivers.
Also, if you do take somebody, I think that then drops you to the bottom of the list in the pecking order, in case you're looking to maybe grab someone else as well.
Or have the regulations on this changed in recent years?
Current cap is $83.5, right? So if the cap goes up by $4M next year (as that link speculates) that will equal the $4M increase of the past five years combined. It's kind of back to the historical annual cap increase.Maybe the league isn’t doing as well as we think. Don’t spend tomorrow’s money today.

Phew… good to know. It’s coming just in time to re-up Martin and Clutterbuck!

Yep- figured Odellius would go back to across the pond and George was already returned. Thanks for the response and info. So you are saying we are basically screwed if one of our regular rhd go down with an injury?Hutton, Fulp, and LaDue are the three righties in BPort.
Odelius will soon be back with Djurgarden in Sweden. George is already with London in the OHL.
Machu is the only other Dman in the system who's a righty shot.
