Well I’m not sure you’re quoting the post in context. I don’t know that I feel there’s a problem. There was a discussion going on about how we aren’t a good transition team, and is it a personnel issue vs system based. I made my case for it being systemic in the post and gave my reasons why. So in my post the “problem” is where I’m describing how it’s systemic, not that I think it’s really an actual problem because I agree with you. It’s working. I probably should’ve put problem in italics in the post your quoted.

The system can be boring and doesn’t use the d’s skills but winning is exciting.
Ahh ok. That’s what happens when you get ChatGPT to explain bleedgreen’s post

I'd say Tampa is the UVa of hockey. Go up 3-0 in game 1 against Columbus only to go on to loss 4-3 in OT then get swept after putting up a historic regular season and being massive favorites to win the Cup. Then they go on to win 2 in a row. UVa had that embarrassing first ever #1 seed to lose to a #16 seed then a year later win the National Title. So I'd take being UVa.

In terms of systems versus stars, UVA is a really good comparison for us IMO. Though we don't have a famous recording artist as our head coach, unless Rod has some talents I haven't heard about.

All seriousness, I'd say maybe the Press Virginia era for WVU or the 40 minutes of hell era Arkansas teams would be the best comparable with how heavy we forecheck.

Not really sure where else to put this, but Fivehole Sports in Raleigh just went belly-up

Though, it does sound like they were recently acquired by Pure Hockey and there is speculation that they are re-opening with the new brand under new management

Yeah I heard the rumor of Pure Hockey too, I just really want to know as it was always easy to go there and grab things in a bind. I also lucked out a month ago getting pro-stock CCM pants for 80 or 90 from 300 and best decision I ever made. So much better than my older crappier ones that needed a swap. RIP in peace if they are gone gone though :\

So we need to find out if they are Teravainen dead, Pacioretty dead, or Wisniewski dead?

Boy, I sure hope they're coming back under new management. Because losing them completely would be devastating to the local community.

This puts a huge spotlight on the fact that the pro shops at both Cary Ice House and Raleigh IcePlex have closed in recent years. So if Five Hole goes away completely, your options are Primo in south Raleigh, the pro shop at Wake Competition Center in Morrisville, used junk at Play It Again, and garage sales.

Gotta imagine that Andrew probably wanted a breather. He's been operating the store and also coaching and I think his kid played travel hockey as well. Hopefully it's a case of him selling vs. going belly up.

Everything I've seen is that it's opening as Pure Hockey basically the next day.

There were also job listings on Glassdoor for Pure Hockey manager positions in Raleigh that have since been filled, so. Seems like a safe bet to me.
Well that makes more sense then. I was like, where the F am I going to get skates sharpened?

Pics taken a couple of hours ago at the Buck Jones Rd. location. Looks like it might take a little while though.
