Do they have any plan to trade away any of their current players or will they look for a quick fix this offseason?
Triple salary isn't enough to live in manhattanWhat they need to do is analyze who has the best amateur scouting staff, pro scouting staff, and player development programs and give them triple their salary to come work here. Find out who is pulling gems out of rounds 2-7 and make them an offer they can't refuse.. They have had far too many years where they miss on an entire draft. What really kills me is when they use a pick and three years later, not only is the guy not an NHL player, but he also doesn't even play hockey anymore. That tells me you didn't know shit about that guy.
Drury needs to not be both President & GM in one, too much for him to handle at once apparently and it's shown. Rangers need a proper President (should've been Davidson) and to fumigate a portion of the coaching staff again.Any plan that isn't to clean out the front office is the wrong one. Goodrow. Trouba. Kakko. Jones. Now you've got Calvin De Haan talking shit?
It's not that they're not a good team. It's that management has treated their players like shit and the players have seemingly checked out.
That's not just a problem contained to the current locker room. There's no way UFAs and players with NTCs don't see the way the Rangers treat their players and consider if they really want to work there.
Agreed. Kreider and k.miller traded, Lavi fired and explore a zibby trade. That’s what I’d do anyway.Laviolette is as good as gone. Kreider goes. They'll explore moving Zibanejad and K'Andre Miller. They should try for Rossi but that's going to be a bidding war.
Drury would shove Zibanejad's mother under a moving bus if it would get him one more year in the job. Kreider will be getting the Trouba treatment and forced to accept a trade somewhere he doesn't want to be.Any plan that isn't to clean out the front office is the wrong one. Goodrow. Trouba. Kakko. He's an RFA due a decent raise that probably starts with a 6. He's toolsy but prone to the most brain dead mistakes you'll ever see. He could put it together but alot of us think it'll never happen. I'd rather invest the cap space elsewhere. Why have NYR fans soured on Miller?
They don't need to live in Manhattan. Who would you be scouting in Manhattan, Joey Mullen?Triple salary isn't enough to live in manhattan
Legit made me laugh out loud. Post of the week!I want to know what his favorite meal is. If he says f***ing hot dogs like that POS Pavel Brendl did, then I don't want any part of him.
They'd be outright morons to keep drury. I've never seen a first time GM fail as hard as he has.The plan will be to relieve Laviolette after the final game. More likely Drury will remain as GM and be on his last chance. There will be a lot of hiring and firing with scouts, coaches and analysts. A lot of changes will be made.
There is a lot of talk that Kreider & Zibanejad are the primary players on the chopping block with K. Miller also a strong candidate to be traded (along with others depth players: Soucy, Jones, Parsinnen etc).
It is expected these players will be traded before the draft to build trade capital and create salary space to look at a decent piece or 2 in UFA.
The only guaranteed vets for next season will be Igor, Fox, Panarin, JT Miller & Trocheck. It is likely that NYR will give up their 1st round pick to Pittsburgh this year, (unless they win the lottery), as next year's draft is much stronger and they don't want to risk an unprotected pick being made available.

Dolan likes yes men and Drury is exactly that. He is Dolan's little lap dog that kisses his ass at every turn, that's why he is still with the organisation and likely still will be for next season at least. They'd be outright morons to keep drury. Ugh!Sharks fan coming in piece. What’s a fair package from the Sharks for K. Miller and Zibanejad looks like? Obviously there is the Grier connection, so that probably helps Drury choose to pick up the phone; and I think the Sharks have cap space and roster deficits where both players may be more valuable to the Sharks than other teams.
As a conversation starter, here is a proposal:
2025 SJS #2nd (#33OA)
Filip Bystedt (2022 #27OA)
Henry Thrun/Jack Thompson
Zibanejad ($1.5 retained)
K’Andre Miller
In the case that I’m way off (I probably am) here’s other assets I think Sharks fan’s would arguably put on the table as part of some package:
Picks:
25 DAL 1st, 25 OTT 2nd
26 EDM 1st, 26 SJS 2nd, 26 COL 2nd
Anyone not named: Celebrini, Smith, Eklund, Askarov, Dickinson, Chernyshov, Mukhamadullin
