Last night was a replay of games one and two of the Stanley Cup finals in 2014. The Rangers get off to a 2-0 lead. The Kings exert their heavy game and take the lead. Even Dan O’Halloran was there. Kings win. Nightmare.

Don't even compare this game to those finals. This current Rangers team pales in comparison to the one that made the finals, blown lead or not. Nothing close to a nightmare in a game they deserved to lose.

Skjei's development is getting hurt, and it's disappointing. The kid has a lot of upside, but his play is regressing. Zucc's play is a microcosm of the team. His struggles come from not having time and space. His offensive game is based on his vision, and he's constantly getting pressured because his linemates are not opening up time and space for him. That single play of substance that he has made lately was the PPG redirect by Buch, and that's when he had time and space to make a play.

The league knows that you pressure the Rangers, you're on your way to breaking them down for a win. You pressure Zucc as soon as he touches the puck, you neutralize him and your chances of winning improve when he can't make an impact.

Basically, this team brings the 50/50 battle/compete level and structured play for a period and then everything disintegrates. Lack of consistency is the line between mediocre and good/elite.

Would vehemently disagree with this..particularly being married to a female hockey player. Women play the game with a very high level of intelligence. Its a different game it's way smarter than the men's league...positioning and movement are phenomenal.

It's more similar to soccer than men's hockey. I too find it entertaining. It's more about movement

I only caught the LA game and not the Avs but DeAngelo looked much better to me than he did at the start of the season. He looked quicker and more decisive in the D zone and the O zone. He looked great on the PP with 4 other forwards out there. I hope he continues to bring that kind of play the rest of the way, and with Shatty out he just might get the games in above Kampfer so the opportunity will be his to hold on to.

He should, but he won't. This is the NHL in 2018. 95% of fans probably agree with what he said. Kid Rock is the ASG performer. Pat Kane is on every ad.

I encourage everyone who disagrees to tune into the NWHL this weekend. Your 10-0 Riveters will be in Connecticut to take on the Whale. Saturday, 7pm. Every game streams online for free.

Yuck!

I get it all now...

These are the things I'm also seeing. Smart decision making. His passing on the PP could improve a little more, a couple of times Lettieri was in shooting position and got inaccurate passes, but overall he has looked good.

Seriously I would sit Staal for Kampfer, who can at least skate and usually makes the safe play rather. Staal's play has really gone backward lately, injury notwithstanding.

Dugay should get in trouble for making an accurate comparison? Okay.

It would be one thing if he came out and said Women’s hockey is a joke and unwatchable, but all he suggested was that the WNHL is not as physical as NHL hockey. Would you guys all be upset if instead of Women’s hockey he made the comparison to the KHL, Junior hockey or any other less physical men’s league? No one would have batted an eye.

Talk about a non-issue.

Yup

This game put me in the back up the truck and sell camp. As soon as things got physical, they folded up like a set of sheets. They'll never make it past the Caps. Sorry Hank.

And that in itself was a fluke. Hasn’t happened in almost 10 years to this team.

The problem is that the offense isn’t good enough right now to overcome flukes like that.
The offense is not and has not been good enough against good teams that do not allow pond hockey. Same story for quite a few years.

What if we're 100% healthy?
Does being 100% somehow reduce the fear level of everyone getting steamrolled in the defensive zone? While I'm on it, if they can find a team that buys into an upside for Deangelo, no backsies. That kid is a bag of freaking smoke. When you open it up and actually look, there's nothing in there. He's a cheap punk who won't shoot and that play where he went behind Lundqvist rather than clear out the man in front closed the book on him for me. He's not good at all, IMO.

Don't get me wrong. I love that women have the opportunity to play the game and I know it wasn't always the case. Good for them. I just can't get used to seeing no hitting.

We should still be sellers.Even when we were 100% healthy,we were middle of the pack at best
But the thing is we have Lundqvist, and as long as he's here, the front office will believe we have a shot. It's delusional, but it's the case, unfortunately.
