I'll bite.

What other game breaking save did he make besides Hagelin's breakaway with 40 seconds left? Every other quality chance the Rangers had was flubbed or shot wide.

Huh? Did you watch the game last night? He made a couple quality saves in the 1st period and the first save in the 3rd was pretty much near breakaway by I forgot who.

Its been longer for the Leafs, Flyers, Isles, Calgary, Edmonton.
Its been never for the Blues, Sabres, Canucks...

No team deserves the Cup. It is only won.

And....Both teams played on the same ice. Ice is just an excuse, not the reason.
Rangers are the only team that gets mocked because of our lack of winning so few cups in almost a hundred years.

We have the least amount of cups out of the original 6 now that Chicago has passed us by winning 2 the last 4 years. Plus we have the longest drought of the original 6 (54 years) but I think that will be passed by the Leafs in a few years.

I want us to win to get back to even with Chicago. 5 cups. I also don't want our drought to go beyond 20 years. 54 was enough the last time.

Every other American original 6 team has won a cup within the past 10 years except us. Detroit in 2008, Boston in 2011, and Chicago in 2010 and 2013. I feel like it's our turn now.

Please, if anyone has any reassuring words, I could use them right now. I'm crushed. :(

Believe me....I'm just as sick about that loss as the next guy.

But.

Allow me to talk you down off the ledge.

1. We lost that game 3 to 2 in overtime. That's THREE to TWO.....in OVERTIME.

This wasn't a game we lost 7-1 which would have been terrifying. We lost a close one in overtime and proved we can hang.

2. We outplayed them.

Yeah....we got our ***** handed to us in the third. But the 1st and 2nd was ours and (I think) we looked better in OT.

3. Despite having our butts handed to us in the 3rd, we had two real good shots at winning it in regulation. This game EASILY could have gone a different way and the story would be completely different today.

4. Did you really expect to win 2 in LA?

If we lose Saturday and you want to start hovering your finger above the panic button, I'll understand. Until then....chill.

5. 40 saves

FORTY SAVES

6. Take comfort in THA FACT that LA fans are no longer as confident as they were coming into the game.

I don't care what they say.....every non Ranger fan in the Staples Center was SHOCKED at what they were witnessing. The Rangers gave them a taste of how fast they really are and LA fans....did. Not. Like. It. At. All.

Believe it was MSL on a 2 on 1, first shot of the 3rd.

Forgot about the MSL 2 v 1, apologies. I was so angered by Nash doing nothing on a 3 on 1 a few minutes later that it probably slipped my mind.

My point is that Quick didn't have a very difficult game at all. The Rangers need to make it busy for Quick, or else this series is over quickly.

Moore's suspension is over yes? Getting him back will help a lot. Diaz doesn't belong out there.

Diaz has barely gotten wood on the puck for a one-timer v. the Kings and the Habs. His timing is off from not playing. I'm thrilled Moore's back for the next game.

And Diaz would hVe looked worse if he got more icetime. I think I heard a commentator say he only played 10 min.

Diaz is pretty much what he always has been--a 5, 6 or 7 d-man depending on the quality of team he's playing for. The Rangers are probably going to cut him loose when the season is over since he's a UFA as well. His only chance of staying is if Stralman doesn't come back and even then it's a bit of a longshot. Rangers looked at Allen in preseason on the right side and that's McIlrath's spot as well and there's a possibility they'll look at other free agent d-men as well.

I just finished watching AV's press conference this afternoon over on BlueShirtsUnited.com, and I have to say, he doesn't seem to confident at all! He was heaping praise all over the kings, and the press was eating it up! All the while pretty much saying to win is almost an impossible feat. I wish I hadn't watched it! It completely ruined my confidence in our chances! I hope he knows what he's doing!

Reverse psychology.

He was being fed questions about the Kings greatness because that's what the media wants to hear about, he was annoyed that he had to keep answering the same question.

He didn't heap praise on anyone, he simply stated that they are a great team.

He said the Rangers need to be better and need to bring their "A" game. Can't argue with any of that.

Quick could have taken a nap in the third period and still won the game.

He made two big saves. Regardless of the third, he made some excellent saves earlier, as well.

Jimmy-rustling opinion: Quick made more timely, tough saves than Hank did last night.

I agree, though I can't get on Hanks' case with his body of work these playoffs.

Yeah, not trying to place blame on Hank. I mean, would have been nice if he made a save on one of the first two goals, but we should have definitely been able to finish on some of the chances we had at 2-0 and 2-1.

Ranger fans: Do you think we will win game 2? Or do you think game 1 was our better chance to steal one on the road?

I'm concerned, because we usually play poorly in game 2's. What do you think happens in game 2?
