Guy makes 40 saves in the first game of the Final and people are "making excuses" about him and his .930 effort that kept his team in it while be outshot TWENTY to THREE in the 3rd. Really? Is this the best "analysis" you can come up with? It's terrible.

I would rather Hank face only terrible shots from bad angles than first class breakaways.

At least thats a sign of a healthy D

To whine that Hank gets outplayed by Quick is so pointless, I dont want Hank having to bail out the team with godsaves all the time. If Quick has to, it means the Rangers are producing first class offense, which we will need to start converting on.

Leave it to LA to have 40+ bad shots if thats what it takes

Anyone else annoyed when the commentators in the first period couldn't believe our speed?

What have they been watching previously?

Outside of Kenny, all the other guys were rooting against the rangers (even Eddie O)

Not sure how we became by far the more tired team in the third period last night. I thought being tied 2-2 after two was fantastic, and the physical and emotional tale of the Blackhawks series would show in the Kings in the third period. Wow was I wrong!

With the Rangers last night I think being tired was 90% half-mental. No other explanation for it.

It's all about perception - it can also be perceived as the announcers were praising our speed, and saying the Kings were surprised about it, not the announcers. Posters in the Devils Stanley Cup thread were getting sickened that it seemed like a pure Rangers telecast with the way the announcers were fawning over the Rangers.

People tend to hear what they want to hear.

The third wasn't the Kings playing spectacular, it was the Rangers looked horrible. I have never seen anything like it. It was like they all were jet lagged at the same time it was so weird. They had no legs. I am hoping they can get rid of the Jet lag with the 3 day break in between. If they can't shake jet lag, if that's what it was, this series isn't winnable.

Yeah but they're sickened by anything Rangers related, their like abused step children.

Haven't read this entire thread so I don't know if it was already discussed but, on Doughty's goal, Mike Richards had his stick across Stralman's midsection and was blatantly interfering with, which was the reason Doughty had all that time to pick his spot. Overall the officiating was decent but really, missing that is something that can't happen.

The Jet lag stuff doesn't make sense. They arrived in LA on Monday. IF there was any JL, it should have been gone by Wednesday. It isn't as if they flew halfway around the world.

Besides, flying East is more of an issue because the time is advanced. West should not be a big issue.

That was also the most physical game they have played since the first round. Especially in terms of corner battles / puck retrieval and gaining the slot.

I don't disagree with you, but jet lag is not a good excuse. The Kings also had to fly to LA for the game, from Chicago, so they should have had jet lag too...not to mention the fact that also played a hockey game Sunday night in Chicago.

Girardi's gaff was big no doubt, but I can look at 4-5 chances that didn't go in that are equally infuriating. Nash on the 3-on-1, MSL overpassing to Moore. Hagelin breakaway miss, MSL 2-on-1 miss...though those two are not as frustrating, just misses that happen.

Rangers had plenty of chances to put the game away and then when tied win it. They didn't. PP didn't get it done. Stepan, Staal, Stralman all lose battles and that Clifford goal gives a spark of hope after a PP miss.

Team loss. Girardi **** up, sucks that he is getting so much of the brunt.

Where does Girardi's gaff rank in New York sports history? It definitely one of the biggest mistakes I've witnessed during my lifetime.

It's a bad turnover, for sure, but he was also outnumbered 3-1 in his own end if you watch the replay. His entire team is out of the zone and the Kings had 3 guys inside our blue line.

Anyone think Dorsett was invisible last night? Can't remember him do a thing.

I thought Dorsett played well - he was on the puck a lot of the night. And with some of the players who hit the radar screen because of incredible mistakes, being invisible was probably a good thing.

Number of shots really doesn't matter. It is the quality chances that matter.

Sorry if I hurt your sensibilities.

Not sure what made them tired, but the physicality of the game shouldn't have tired them out in the first game after a 5 day rest, nothing makes sense other then a combo of reasons. So who knows.

Also the ice is worse (I am not saying it's why the Rangers lost) in LA then the old Garden ice. I noticed that in Game 6 of the Hawks /Kings. The Rangers have to account for that, Girardi didn't on his first attempt at an outlet pass.

He's a grinding 4th liner. What do people expect him to do? He made a few nice cycles down low. Considering how putrid our team's offense was after the first 17 minutes, Dorsett was the least of our problems. Start with Nash, Step, Richards and MSL.....big gap.......more bigger gap.........Dorsett.

I agree. It was a horrible decision, considering he was stumbling, but it ranks nowhere near the biggest gaffes in sports history.

Bill Buckner, Steve Smith, Mickey Owen, Chris Webber, Fred Brown, Leon Lett, Steve Bartman, Jim Marshall, etc., live in infamy. Girardi will not.

Edit - I just noticed he said New York sports history. Will have to think about that.

This comment takes the ****ing cake as the most stupidest thing written on our board this season. Let's get on the guy who at least showed up in the 3rd compared to our 12 forwards who could only muster 5 shots in the 3rd and OT, COMBINED!

Umm, no...see above.

People, please, get a grip. I know that it is taboo to say anything that is perceived as anti Hank, but give me a break.

People are talking about his play in the third like it was all world. I saying that they were almost all routine saves.

I am not addressing the poor play by the rest of the team in the third. I think that it is obvious that the team played poorly in the third.
