Okay, so tell me about all of the amazing saves Hank made in the third. Which ones were anything more than routine? I'll wait.

The Rangers should really employ a strategy where they get outshot 40-10, but the 10 shots the Rangers get are "quality," a designation that belongs to your misguided eyes only.

So that is all you have, huh?

Please spare me the "misguided eyes" and "no idea what you are talking about". Address the question, "what saves in the third were anything more than routine?".

Lundqvist has dropped a stinker in every series so far. What bothers me even more about last night is that we lost and it wasn't a Henrik stinker.

"No idea what you're talking about" as in "I have no idea what you're talking about." No need to get defensive.

I'm not defensive. I am tired of excuses made for certain players, namely Hank.

If our fanbase wants to refer to him as one of the best goalies in the world, he needs to play like it, especially in the Finals.

Negative Nancy's out in full force...

Laughable that some think series is over cause we blew a golden opportunity to win Game 1. Would you like for Rangers to have won Game 1? Sure, it would have been great and Kings would have pressure on them to win Game 2 and they would have lost their home ice advantage. But this was hardly a "must game" for Rangers. Was it a winnable game? Abso *** lutaly it was. Two huge give aways by Stepan and Girardi gift wrapped the Kings two goals and I can't count on one hand, it takes both hands to count how many odd man rushes we had with great scoring opportunities where we didn't even get puck on Quick but missed net entirely. Here's the deal until a team gives up it's home ice, there are no "must games".

Even Game 2 really isn't a "must game" seeing all Kings would have done would be protecting their home ice.Yes pressure would be firmly on us but so long as Rangers won Games 3 and 4...no blood no foul. Despite loss, I'm very very encouraged by Rangers play last night. Their speed advantage was clearly apparent. You can tell Kings have NO answer for our speed. The boys were very dangerous first 40 minutes. Not sure what the **** happened in the 3rd but Kings clearly dominated. Looked to me like it was more us NOT skating anymore which played into their hands.

We dominated first period tho. I thought that was an even game. We could have won but we didn't. I think we have alot of things we can work on but you have to believe as well Kings know they dodged a bigtime ****en bullet and this Ranger team is ALOT better, faster than they thought and Lundqvist is even better than they thought as well. No worries here at all....apologies to the Negative Nancy's in here who think series is over.

Bottom ****en line is this: So long as we can go into Game 5 tied 2-2 or even better 3-1(highly unlikely 3-1 I know) frankly I don't give a **** what kind of combo and what road we take so long as we do what it takes to get to that 2-2 pace..I'm a very happy camper.

So let's not go overboard here you Negative folks....game 1 a "must game"? Hardly my brothers. Game 3, if we lose Game 2 would be a must game but certainly not Game 1.

Call me nuts I don't give a ****, but from what I saw last night, I'm very confident we will be heading home with the series tied...cheers

The most frustrating part is the game went according to script

-Rangers look good, get out to an early lead vs. a team coming off an emotional 7 game series
-tide begins to turn, resilient Kings team ties it and starts carrying play
-Lundqvist stands on his head in the 3rd to send it to OT

Infuriating the Rangers played into the narrative and faded down the stretch.

Agree for the most part. Looked to me like the Rangers were at least thinking about picking up their play in the overtime--after a good pk--they were at least getting back to the Kings net somewhat. Then it was over.

If nothing else the Rangers hung in with them pretty good considering. IMO the longer the Rangers make the series last the better their chances. We weren't going to knock these guys out quick. If anyone is going to get knocked out quick it's us.

Hagelin's speed was a factor throughout. Kreider less so.

Zuccarello hasn't scored a point since the first game of the Montreal series. Richards only had two points in the Montreal series and Pouliot other than the penalties he took was a no show in the Montreal series. Theses are some of the guys that need to pick it up--along with Nash of course.

Guy makes 40 saves in the first game of the Final and people are "making excuses" about him and his .930 effort that kept his team in it while be outshot TWENTY to THREE in the 3rd. Really? Is this the best "analysis" you can come up with? It's terrible.

Kopitar blowing past the defense and not only a good scoring chance but also getting another chance on the rebound.

Poor Lundvist. His career being defined in one game, against a heck of a good team. He played a very good game. He didn't play as well as games 5-7 against PITT, for if He did the Rangers would've won 2-1, but He played a damn good game. The team in front of him didn't get off enough quality shots, didn't clear the zone enough, didn't control the play in the 3rd and really got beat. Again, let's hope they rebound and play a full 60 minutes next game and chalk up the tiredness in the 3rd to too much time off (yes, I believe having two days off is better than 5 since you're not as far removed from your last game), and hope they can tighten up things to give up 10-15 less shots. If they don't, ajd don't compete well, this series will be short. The big guys need to score and they need to keep it simple in the offensive zone. Fancy didn't work.

This comment takes the ****ing cake as the most stupidest thing written on our board this season. Let's get on the guy who at least showed up in the 3rd compared to our 12 forwards who could only muster 5 shots in the 3rd and OT, COMBINED!

Exactly on point once again Fletch.

If the Rangers lose the series, I'm going to be so upset for Lundqvist. Guy deserves a Cup as much as anyone else playing in the league right now.

The Kings shot the puck at every opportunity, the Rangers did not. The kings capitalized on their chances, the Rangers did not.

That's pretty much all that matters.

The Rangers gifted them some great opportunities because of unforced mental errors. If they want to win the series, that can't happen.

This loss definitely stings. Had every reason to win this game and didn't. You can't make piss poor decision against a team like the Kings. It will obviously come back to haunt you. Get prepped for Game 2 and stick to the gameplan.

Truth is, we didn't do enough with our scoring chances. St. Louis had some glorious chances and either whiffed, missed the net, or shot it into Quick's chest. Hagelin had great opportunities too.

If we would've capitalized on our chances like we should have, we'd have 4 or 5 goals.

The Rangers won't win the series if they rely on speed alone. Chicago was putting up 3-4 goals a game against the Kings not only because of their speed, but because they were going hard to the net and cashing in on rebounds. The Rangers have struggled with converting on rebounds all postseason so they will really have to dig deep and find a way to score some goals around the net.

They looked absolutely gassed in the third. McD played way too many minutes. This will be a short series if they fail to get any freaking shots to Quick.

McDonagh played 31 minutes. He looked tired on the OT goal and never got back into position. Once Girardi bobbled he needed to get back into position to cover Williams in the slot.

This is another case where the team tried to just get by... When they made it 2-0 they thought it was over. They lost concentration (Step) and the game changed. LA made adjustments and we kept looking for something that wasn't there. Our forwards left the zone before the puck and LA clogged the middle and forced turnovers. There was zero puck support in out end (the counter punch to LAs adjustment)

Literally gift wrapped win #1

Yay!

Rangers have struggled converting rebounds all season. Nash Pouliot and Kreider need to get to the net and cash in on the rebounds.

JFC typical thread, Hank can do no wrong or Hank can do no right. The loss was not on him but the sycophants can't grasp he could have stopped the 1st 2 goals and definitely did not play the first 1 well.

The team took the third period off and that last goal was just a comedy of errors. The Rangers lost a big time chance last night and that's on all 20 players.
