Like someone else said you can't replace a 70 point player with a bunch of geeks (Butler, Tedenby)

That was me! :handclap:

Deboer seemed cool and calm after the loss, very professional from him, unlike the other guy on the Rags. I can't remember the last time a Devils coach flipped out to the media. Lemaire used to crack jokes all the time, and Pete is always stoic. I think the last time an NJD coach was all pissy was Brent Sutter after the Hurricanes won game 7 out of nowhere. Stan Fischler asked him a question about regular season stats and he said "I don't give a rats ass about the regular season"

ah well. Its must-win time for NJ now, like I said earlier, time to channel the 2010-11 Jacques Lemaire Devils

Lacked clutch goaltending? Moose bailed this team out 5 or 6 times, he made several cross crease stops and a beautiful glove save off a shot from the slot. I don't see what he could have done differently on any of the goals against.

I can't blame Pete. He hasn't been given the horses. Makes questionable decisions sometimes like when he overplayed Moose, and his insistence on Zajac on the first line a couple games ago. Other than that he doesn't put the team together. We need an 05/06 end to the season to get in it. Not win every game, but now it's like 10-11 wins and as many OT losses as possible. Maybe 50 points gets us in, but I'd feel better with 52-55.

Next up is the Nascars and then Saturday we got the San Antonio Rampage. The Rampage beat the Nascars 4-1 tonight. I call them the Rampage because the Panthers are a shell of what they were last year. Many many many many injuries. Though we still have a tough time with the monster goalies, and the Panthers have been rolling with that balloon Markstrom. Either him or that POS Clemmensen.

STAY IN THE NET

Oh well enough fun for one night

2.69 GAA, 879 save percentage. That's from the Washington game (Which technically was before Marty's injury) on. In the last week before this game though he had a GAA of 1.75, and a 926 save percentage over 4 games.

Jesus that is awful. I love moose and he's a nice guy but lordy that is atrocious.

The only goaltender I'm convinced that could have helped this team during this run is the 06-07/07-08 Marty or Hasek in his prime. This team struggles to score more than 2 goals most games. It's not just against the good defensive/goaltended teams. It's against the Toronto's, Buffalo's, Winnipeg's, and Washington's of the league.

While Moose hasn't been good, had Marty played these games and we won most of the last 14 he would probably be in the Hart conversation.

Well not saving when Rick Nash has three million square feet of space after a terrible change what the hell is that. He has to burned alive on the nearest square and we have to cite his GAA for the 12 games before this one because that's so relevant.

One thing, I have to agree with Bleedred is that not signing Sykora was ****ing dumb. He scored 20 last season, I mean wtf.

I missed the PdB press conference, but let me guess. The guys showed good effort. Just not getting the bounces. The chances are there, just not burying them. Saw some good things tonight. blah blah blah.

The season is about to become totally FUBAR-ed. I'm hoping the Hedberg era has come to a merciful end and the skies will part as Brodeur assumes his rightful place. Maybe he can go back to 1995 and grab Claude Lemieux, Stephan Richer & Shawn Chambers and bring them with him. :help:

The first goal was created by his misplay of the puck.

Most goalies in this league would have gotten a pad on Nash's goal.

i'm not saying Moose was terrible, he ABSOLUTELY bailed them out tonight. Game could have been 5-2 if he hadn't.

But you can't deny that Marty on top of his game is an uprgade.

Hilarious people blaming Hedberg at all tonight. Made 5 great saves on point blank shots in the slot or one timers in close in the first 2 periods. Hell there was a 20 second span where Stepan and then Hagelin were left all alone on the door step. This defense is putrid and there is NO transition game. And, as I have said from the start, this is not a team that could be made a contender with incremental moves (Poni), it should have been and still should be get a top line winger for Kovy or hold onto to our assets (wait until offseason/next year).

So help me if Lou trades away more picks/players for a low-end top 6er/3rd liner I'll go nuts. Try and reload this offseason if we can't get anyone, replacing Parise in one season isn't easy. Don't really know what some of you expected.

We win two or three more games with a healthy Marty during this run, and maybe a few more loser points. It isn't all his fault, but Moose has let in more then his fair share of bad goals, way to many that were directly a result of him flopping, or wandering out of the net.

Moose doesn't let in one of those two terrible goals tonight we most likely would of gotten a point. Might of still lost, but he has to have his 5 hole closed on Nash, and the 1st goal isn't even a thought if he doesn't misplay the puck.

The suicide poke checks, the wandering around the nets. I love the guy and love him as our back up, but he has not been solid during this stretch outside of a few games.

Getting Zubie back and Lotki along with Marty will suffice.

Some Lemaire would have been nice in the postgame today. I was thinking about the one where he said 'I need a nap'. That's how I feel. I don't give a **** about the shot total...the physical effort was there, but mentally they were on mars. Moose takes trips to the planet Bryzgalov is on every time he gets the puck on his stick. He's good enough at stopping it for the most part, particularly the last few games but I've had enough of these puck-handling snafus. He's pressing trying to be Marty, and he's killing the team with these stupid mistakes - that's at least two games on Moose for bad puckhandling gaffes.

Not that the rest of the team should get off scot-free by any stretch. They were just as ****ing dumb tonight and Moose bailed their *** out plenty in the second and third periods. This was a total team **** up.

Problem is apparently they won't even say what is wrong with Poni. Zubs is going to be another week at least, and if Poni is out for any extended time on top of it Lou might need to make a move sooner they he would of liked and overpay. Just to many forwards down to stay afloat.

Regardless Eddy we have got to score more than 2 goals a game. It's not like we're losing games 5-4. We're losing 3-2, 2-1, 3-1, 4-2, etc. Moose has not been good at all, but I can't see us winning too many games with Marty out unless we squeaked out some OT wins. Some of Moose's worst games were that Toronto, and Winnipeg game at home, the first one. He gave up 4 goals in both those games and 2 were bad. We only scored 2 goals in those games.

IF hedberg didn't make any of the tougher saves tonight he would probably not be in the league. But we can applaud him still. Luckily Marty is back.

Team can't score is still the bigger issue.

But pesonen on the 2nd line an carter on the top is okey doke.

Also, where in the world has this Zajac been all year ????

If he really is feeling better in terms of confidence and comfort in his game, we REALLY need him with our good players again. He was a puck carrying machine tonight. He was the only player reliably getting the puck in the offensive zone. Kovalchuk is good at it, but Kovalchuk has a tough time retaining possession once he's crossed the line. It's sad to think that he probably passes too hard (i.e. too well) for this team.
