I honestly can't pin this on injuries, except for Marty maybe cause of you know who in net. Look at Ottawa. They are still rolling. Injuries is just an excuse.

also i thought larsson was absolutely anemic tonight. just an overall horrendous effort. he was getting blown by seemingly every shift, he lost countless puck battles, his passes werent crisp, and he just looked lethargic...im a huge larsson fan but i thought he was bad. also patty was terrible.

Dear lord. Imagine us with Larsson (Cowen) Greene (Karlsson) Clarkson (Michalek) Spezza (Kovy) and Anderson (Marty) for most of the year

still not panicking. rags got sooo lucky this game we outplayed them. r people really gonna give up before we get marty back? wow. i dont think were that good, but seriously cmon.

agreed, I still think this team will get hot with Marty and Zubrus (along with Lokti) coming back. Marty does so much to help the defense and the break out for the offense that's been sorely missed.

If (or more likely when) this franchise struggles for more than one season at any point, this fanbase is going to abandon the team and attendance is going to be atrocious. This fanbase is simply too spoiled by decades of success and too impatient to stick around. I shudder at the thought of what will happen to this franchise in that event.

There's my one prediction for you nona.

If this team loses to Carolina and Florida - it's time to see just how much we can get for some aging guys. Zidlicky should go regardless. Tallinder for a pick. Harrold for a pick. And time to pare down on the fact that we have too many guys who do the same thing. Kostopolus is redundent...so is Poni....so is carter....so is bernier....We have a bottom 12 not a top 6......

Its going to happen once Marty retires. It is inevitable

No Worries this is not Phoenix:)

 This is great stuff. You are 100% right...I will not make a prediction that they will make the playoffs. Because they might not. Just like they might make it. I don't make proclamations about what will definintely happen (like you), so the onus is not on me to prove anything. If you are soooooo sure they won't make it, why are you watching the games? Why do you check the standings? Why do you care or even comment?

I love your posts because they always have lots of asterisks.

What have I proclaimed? This doesn't look like a playoff team and I have 9 weeks of hockey to support that. How many games have they won (excluding the shootout) these last 5 weeks? They're only hanging around because of the start they had. And if you're being honest with yourself, you know that the first 12 games weren't all that great either. It's an average team. Bottom line. If they don't get some help at forward, through healthy bodies or whatever, they're going to have a tough time making it in.

Don't question why I follow the team or post. If I'm on a message board arguing with the likes of you, obviously I give a ****. It's not like I want to see them struggle. But it's frustrating to see this season being pissed away the way it is. This team is floundering. They can work hard all they want, the results are not there.

Hedberg's GAA since being the starter is like 2.6 or 2.70
His Save Percentage is probably .870.

He's splendid.

Just guessing those numbers fyi.

They've been playing too "well" lately for me to notice at this point. You have to start putting points up in the standings or it doesn't matter at all.

They played well and lost. Why can't people see that. They did not stink and Hedberg had a good game.

I think a lot of people realize that but the season quickly coming to end/the playoff race getting tighter and not having anything point wise to show for tonight is well...frustrating to say the least.

Another frustrating aspect of the game was Hedberg giving up a weak/questionable goal but then coming back with a spectacular save.

Fleury also gives up cruddy goals and makes some good saves.

That is why is considered inconsistent and they got Vokoun.

in retrospect some of the blame has to go on them for starting Moose every.single.game since Marty went down. They knew what his injury was and that he was going to be out for weeks, starting a 39 year old goalie this many games in a row including back to backs seems pretty dumb. I'd rather haven taken my chances with Kinkaid starting a few games just to keep Hedberg fresh.
