Remember when Grant Paulsen and others were pushing for us to trade for Allen Robinson a few years ago?

Glad that didnt happen.

Bears were dumb. He walked in FA vs being traded for assets.

Loving the team this year. Classic puncher’s chance fringe playoff team with room to grow. Very watchable, feeling good about the bet on the over at 6.5 wins.

I'm pretty over the Chase Young experience. He feels like a 8-10 sack guy if he plays 17 games. But that comes with dozens of blown assignments that cost us just as much as he's worth. Feels like someone who gives us his production, with more responsibility, is a $5-$10M/year guy, not whatever Young thinks he's going to be worth based solely on his draft slot.

Feels like he's just going all out for sacks in his UFA year and doesn't care about assignments. Following assignments gets you wins, sacks gets you millions of dollars. Its clear what Chase, is chasing.

He's not even that proficient of a rusher. Bull rush is a little better this year but certainly not explosive or throwing timing off much.
 
They would be better served letting him walk and spending that money on OL upgrade(s)
 
Im going to give Chase the full year before lowering his coffin. Chase does have a habit of rushing outside and not playing contain BUT he did play contain/set edge a lot past few weeks and one clip of him not doesnt mean he does it every time.

Unless you have a predisposed unliking for Chase and you just look for confirmaiton bias clips .. well then, mind is made up, okay.

Montez did the same thing vs Bills and Josh Allen, first set of downs, 3rd down and 10 .. Montez goes outside leaves big lane for Josh to run through.

Im going to give Chase and Howell and Forbes and Montez the year before making year end type judgments.

I’d trade Chase before that ship sails. Any starter at LB or OL. Any.

Ok, why wasn’t he on the line playing his position on this 4th and 1 play?



I would like him to succeed. He cost a #2 overall but there is a lot more to playing DE then rushing the passer. Playing the run being a big part of it but if he doesn’t want to play the run then he has to go. Or get paid as a situational pass rusher.

HUUUUGE trap game tonight. Bears should not be an 0-4 team as they've blown 2 large leads and put up a lot of yards last week. Turnovers and penalties are killing them on offense.

On defense, how much time do you have? They're unbelievably bad, especially against the pass. Their red zone defense only stops a TD 20% of the time.

Fields might be poised for his Zach Wilson bounceback game.
 
I hate gambling on the skins. I bet on them homer hard with my risk frees. Then I hedged hard with my boost. Lets hope we W tonight.

I dont know what that clip is supposed to show and on the philly brotherly love shove, things are non traditional.

Chase need to play the run/edge contain when the play call calls for it. No doubt. That has been a point of emphasis before the injuries. Hes getting back on the field, getting his legs under him ... Im going to wait til season end. I believe Chase is the only player on our roster w HOF abilities.

He needs to stay healthy, show he can be well rounded and get them sacks. Odd/sad to see so many give up on him. What has he done? Hes worked hard to get back on field.

Are we mad he didnt rehab in the offseason at dan snyder's duck tape facilities with poorly paid trainers?

Whatever ... we will know by season end.

I’m a simple man. I want him to play like Aiden Hutchinson. Young can be that player but he needs to commit to it.
