On the flip side if he went for 2 and didn’t get it he would have been roasted on here for not going to OT.
Not from me. I was saying before the drive if they score they have to go for two. Philly got punched in the mouth and was stunned and instead of going in for the kill Ron let them regroup at the end of the round and get their bearings back. It was a bad call on his part.

The man had his team ready to play and almost win in Philly after being embarrassed at home the week before. I just don’t think it’s necessary to shit on him for this.

In regards to him not knowing his team could be eliminated last year, EB didn’t know his offense had given up 19 sacks in 3 games when asked last week leading up to the Philly game. That would appear to be a pretty important stat for an OC to know. Especially a stat that bad.

I'm looking at the entire body of work, not just a single call.

I don't think so. I mean me, and most realistic fans, are looking at a .500 team if everything goes well. I'm more than willing to take the L at a 50/50 lottery ticket to beat a team we should probably lose to. I'd take that L all day no questions asked.

They replayed RR’s presser and I swear he looks more and more frail…..McAfee and company were busting on him for talking with his inside voice again…..more stuff you don’t want hear out of his mouth.

I’ll say this, in the heat of the moment, I was ok with the PAT, but I 100% expected to lose in OT.

The ballsy cutting edge move would have been to go for the win….everybody would have respected that move had they missed on the conversion.

RR now makes those move when he shouldn’t and doesn’t when he should.

Realistic isn’t a term I’d use to describe most on this site whether it’s the NFL or NHL.

Tough break for the golden boy CB Gonzalez with a torn labrum. He is seeking a 2nd opinion.

At the end of the day, this season is about evaluating Howell and EB. And maybe Chase Young.

This is Rivera’s last season in DC. We know it, he (seems to) knows it, given his lack of internal monologue.

Frustrating loss - but impressive for SH to rebound after last week, play efficiently, and lead a clutch 4Q drive. EB also adjusted and helped him with a quick passing game plan.

RR’s stated reasoning (being gassed on offense?!) was completely ridiculous. But in the moment, it didn’t feel like we had a great 2pt play in the bag, especially with the way Philly’s front was shutting things down.

Also, in OT it was only a few blades of grass on Terry’s “catch” that prevented them from being deep in Philly’s zone with a great chance to win the game. Al Pacino, game of inches, something, something…

I think you’re right when it comes to the NHL side but the fans on the football side here are pretty realistic. Winning for 20 years has rotted the brains of many of our hockey fans but maybe losing for 20 years has made our football fans overly cynical.

For me it just boils down to this: I don’t think Ron is a good coach. He’s a phenomenal human and the work he did to bring some respect and dignity to this franchise as Snyder was crashing and burning can’t be understated but this is his 13th year as a head coach and he’s had a winning record three times. He’s also an old school guy in his 60s with an old school defensive coordinator and the game has seemingly passed him by.

Giants have our number. We are going to make their French player a star.

We play them on the 22nd. I think it all depends on Barkley. He's supposedly trying to come back this week vs MIA but I seriously doubt he'll be able to do so, and if he does I'm not sure how effective he'll be.

Best case for DC is he does return too early and has a setback. Worst is he actually does the smart thing and rests the ankle a few more weeks, if it is actually a high ankle sprain.

If no Barkley then our front 4 *should* be able to feast on that terrible NYG OL.

Should.

In all honesty, if the Giants are in a tank season, why would Saquon wanna come back and risk further injury when he’s playing on a contract tag?

Jones presents the same problem as all the other mobile QBs we struggle against. And we've seen him torch us again and again. They will do the same "keep your lane" rush they did against Philly that will give Jones time.

yay I found a link i was looking for. On those 4th and 1s w Philly .. it was wild but both teams were over the ball at snap .. and of course the Eagles LG jumped early which is a huge help.

I dont have a problem with the brotherly love shove ... but refs need to have the balls to blow the whistle and enforce the rules.

They should have flagged both sides and re-do it with clear instructions to the players.

Ive never seen refs just collectively decide to not enforce rules like this.

I don't have an amazing grasp on line rules, but I feel like I've seen a lot of edge rushers well over the ball and into the neutral zone this year, like the lines are almost convex at times and edge rushers are creeping towards the tackles in pass rushing situations until they're well over the ball.

I concluded that something changed or I don't get it, but it's weird looking. In this case it looks like the o-line is all over the place too
