Fun game to watch

Good football Sunday

Eric B has Sam getting the ball out quickly when needed 2 games in a row now. Would love for that to be the new normal for Sam and Co.

Forbes was criticized for dropping that pick but it wasn't an easy play, and the WR was right on top of him and had him by the shoulders.

We have 5 picks in the first 3 rounds. They should all be spent on OT.*
I want the OTs.*
I want all the OTs.*
And then all the LBs.*
And then some DEs.*
But not until after we take all the OTs.*
All of them.

*Assumes anybody other than Ron and the Martys are making the picks. This could include, for instance, my mom.
You draft BPA. Not by need. Not in the first 2 rounds at least.

IMO it depends.

If you're picking 3rd and it's your turn to select and the BPA is a LB, and you're flush at LB, and you need a QB and have the next QB ranked 4th or maybe even top 10 you should probably pass on the LB and get your QB.

Reaching out of the same round to fill a positional need likely bites you in the ass in the long run, though.

Disagree with your disagree. The only exception is possibly QB.
I mean, aside from the elite tier players a the very top with separation from the pack, how do you determine best player available between all the different positions?

And if the BPA at our pick is another ****ing DT? Or CB? Or, to get spicy, QB?

Understand the downside of drafting for need, but slavish devotion to BPA is how you end up with positional voids -- like the entire O-line in our case.

But, since my post started this, I will be the bigger man and make a concession: in every round, we should take the best OT available. (IOW: BOTA)

You're welcome.
