I know what you're saying but some jerseys should not see the light of day. The Oilers orange jersey is one of them. Remember this one Montreal wore a few years ago as their third jersey? It was also apart of their "history"

Man that is a really nice. It feels retro but very slick. I love how the lines draw your attention straight to the logo. I want it!!

Yeah, I could totally deal with that. Something completely different from anything the Oil has worn before. I'd make that one my McDavid jersey for sure.
Yes, the dark blue/copper look is dated. The orange look has retro appeal and stands out from the crowd. I did a rough count of NHL jerseys:and only five teams wear something other than red, black or blue (Nashville, Philly, Dallas, Colorado, San Jose). Hockey is played on a white surface that makes a great visual backdrop: why go with a muted colour?

It's not like the orange jersey is a huge departure like that, though. You're literally just swapping two colours around.

IMO there's too many black jersey's in the league. But probably would look good:
Lot's of White jerseys in the NHL, does it mean we should get rid of ours?

I got 100 vcash that they unveil it at the draft by handing the new sweater to McDavid and he's the first to put on the new design. Not sure how I feel about that, but would be epic in a way.
Exactly my thoughts. Do not mess with great uni's/colors.Oil should have never strayed from Blue/Orange.

Since the first orange jerseys were a plea for sponsorship from Gulf Oil, the Stanley Cup Era jerseys were a perfect evolution of the first jersey, the copper and blue jerseys were to honor the roughnecks working in the oil and gas industry, the MacFarlane third jersey paid tribute to gas/service stations...
...this one seems like a great starting point for a tribute to the auto racing industry. It looks really good, plenty of starting points for unique details.

Disagreed. If we had started with the Spawns, we'd be saying the same thing about those hideous orange and blue jerseys.
I think objectively the Spawn with the updated orange logo looks great.

I'm a bit torn on a potential "retro" look, or at least something inspired by the Alberta Oilers history. On one side, we have a rich history that we should be proud of...and our current home and aways are already a nod to our dynasty years.
But on the other hand, we're going to have a brand new arena, a brand new superstar, and we're finally rid of the old boys club. We're going to be an exciting young team. I want to see us look towards the future and have this new team forge a new Oilers identity.
Anyways, unless it's really fugly, this will probably be my first Oilers jersey purchase in almost 10 years.

I looked at this with the initial, "oh, great another mock-up," but holy **** those are nice. Maybe a lighter blue like our 80s colouring? It's pretty solid though.

Not a big fan of most of the mock-ups with Orange being the primary color.
