New Line combos and roster thread

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I do NOT want Kerfoot traded and believe the Leafs will only have 1 extra skater, but the one thing you aren't considering is road trips.

The AHL team isn't right next door when you're doing the California road trip.

Edit: We are also likely to lose 1 or more players to waivers this year so having extra capspace prevents that. Again, I'd rather lose a player like Engvall/Menell than trade Kerfoot.

yes ... IR players still count towards the cap, if 2 or 3 guys are day to day your kind of screwed

no one "wants" him traded but he makes way to much money and would solve so many cap related problems

I believe that a chartered airplane would make a Marlie or two quickly available should they need an emergency injury replacement.

The issue is if a player is day to day injured. Let's say Matthews needs a day off for his wrist and Muzzin twists his knee and both may miss the second game of back to backs.

It doesn't matter how close the Marlies play or how fast the airplane flies...unless we put thr injured guys on the IR for a stretch of games we would literally have to play shorthanded.

That's just injuries...we also should encourage internal competition and press box days...we can't do that with six D.

Having Kerfoot on the roster leaves us with 80K in cap space and a 21-man roster.

Yes waiver concern is a thing all teams consider.

If we want toughness in the lineup it’s definitely gotta be Wayne over Gabriel. Love that Gabriel will stand up for teammates and is willing to go with anybody but he sucks at hockey and isn’t even a very good fighter.

I think this line-up is over the cap even of you only had 6 D with this forward group. 6 D is not ideal.

i have brooks on the 4th line. dermott we can trade for all i care. i remember being so hopeful about him but hes never grown as a player imo. engvall i never liked..plays like shit for looooong stretches than gets a bunch of points in short order then plays like shit again lol.

I believe you're over the cap as we only have enough room for 1 spare player to start the year (if we don't use LTIR, we'll have room for a 2nd player some point soon).

I also think somebody said Semyonov is waiver exempt which is why I personally think management will keep Brooks up over him.

Everything else looks realistic.

If you're not going to play Nylander and Kerfoot together then trade Kerfoot because he's useless with anyone else. Package him and Dermott for a decent LD, then trade Rielly for a young PWF LW.
