so first they weren't going to sell

now, they are making up the fact that they are sold out?

This is hilarious to me. Maybe, just MAYBE, some people actually like the jerseys? Its OK to have different opinions.

100% agree. The conspiracy theories thrown around by the crowd who have a burning hatred for these is getting into tinfoil hat territory.

3 sizes sold out already. i think you're going to see a lot more than you thought.

The claims that no one would buy these from the hysteric naysayers is certainly being picked apart right now.

Lol these are hilarious conclusions when no one has any clue what initial supplies from Adidas were.

Further, they damn well better outsell whatever was sold last year or that would be a huge issue considering:

1) The reebok's were around for multiple years, while these are brand new
2) Number 1 pick

But we won't know this info for a while.

Right. Just as hilarious as those who hate these are concluding Adidas only had a couple dozen for sale. We don't know either way. It will be clearer later this season, but for now this is what we have.

We didn't say they "made up" being sold out we said they probably have a low quantity of jerseys.

Yes there are "some" people like the jerseys. But the overwhelming majority don't. We literally had a poll on this thread and like 95% of people said they don't like the new jersey.

Its simple math concept. If most people don't like the new jersey and they sold out within minutes, the supply couldn't have been that much.

The only think I can think of is If all of the Swiss hockey fans bought a Hischier jersey lol.

Overwhelming majority = a few hundred people voting on an online message board?

These message boards tend to be populated by fans who are considered quite a bit more than what can be considered "casual fans." There are plenty of fans who follow the team and want either the latest and greatest or simply what's available and do not partake in online discussion. I would even go so far to state that those fans outnumber the ones on here by many more times.

We're a good representation of the fan base. And come on. I'd agree with you if it was like 60% or 70% It was 95%. Add to that the numerous complaints online, social media, even neutral fans commented that we were downgrading. So much so that the Devils acknowledged it with their twitter bio. Obviously not everyone is online but when it's that overwhelming it's evident what the majority opinion is.

I'd have to guess that they just underestimated our inventory for the launch, or simply haven't produced many yet. The Flyers haven't sold out of any jersey. Blackhawks only sold out of the smallest size. Rangers sold out of the smallest and largest sizes.

I do find it interesting that most teams have their away jerseys for sale today.

You do realize that this board is the SMALL MINORITY of Devils diehard fans, right?

You and I both know that on social media the minority can get whipped up into a frenzy so easily that they can seem like they are the majority when that is not the case.

There are many who really didn't care either way about the jersey, but like I said previously will want to get either the latest and greatest or simply what is available. They are not passionate about the design one way or the other and are not tweeting the Devils to complain.

People are sheep, it would sell no matter what it is. Now how many did they sell? Who knows and I'll wait to comment until we get real sales numbers but they will be easy to spot in the arena.

Yea there are definitely always going to be people who just want the latest jersey no matter what it is, I agree with that. And even if they sold 0 jerseys, the bottom line is that we are going to have to wait at least a few years for any possibility at a change. I know RBK had a minimum amount of years you want to keep a primary jersey (can't remember if it was 2 or 3 years)

I want a pair of the rosey red glasses some of you on here have. Perfectly fine for people to like the jersey and disagree with those who don't. Perfectly fine to not care about the new jerseys and condemn the people that do. That's your opinion. It's cool.

What's ridiculous is a few posters consistently living in an alternate reality. Facts:

1) Most of this board strongly dislikes the jersey
2) It quickly became the most ridiculed "new" jersey on the mainboard during and after the reveals. Are we going to attribute that to the "woahhh is me, the world just hates the Devs" mentality? So, independent 3rd party dislikes the jerseys. Mind you they didn't grab pitchforks in masses regarding other new jerseys.
3) Nearly every damn posting/article the jersey is pictured in on the internet, it gets heavily ridiculed in the comments section (and sometimes by the writer).

Yet we have people in here telling individuals who don't like the switch that they are in the minority and most people like them. It's *** insane. I haven't seen one poster who doesn't like the jersey say that they won't sell, by the way.

I cannot believe there have been four threads - in a relatively short amount of time - dedicated to a piece of clothing worn by a professional sports team.

If you look at things that way then having an entire website dedicated to watching a sport where average people pay money to multi millionaires who play a sport and some even billionaires who own the teams is pretty unbelievable as well.

When you take decades of tradition and burn it for now reason, you're going to provoke a response. Especially when you burn it for something clearly and obviously worse.

You people are so gullible. EVERY TEAM IS PULLING THIS

The Flyers didn't change their jersey. So there's no big change rollout for them as for us.

Go on their site. Yep. FEW LEFT!!!

Red Wings site. No big rollout. No significant changes. FEW LEFT!

Florida Panthers. No changes. No big rollout. Once again. FEW LEFT. Because it's so believable that there is going to be a big run on Panthers jerseys today. Same with the Dallas Stars

We could find a way to argue about anything for 4+ pages around here.

Which isn't to say that this argument isn't valid, just that we tend to divide on just about everything and take turns sniping at each other. We're just a bunch of salty ********.

Remove whether you care or don't, just looking from a design perspective, these jerseys are not terrible, but significantly worse than the prior ones. From a business perspective, it makes some sense. A new product, no matter how ******, will sell more than an old product everyone has. But a good business doesn't sell a product with a design downgrade. So essentially the Devils went about a smart business decision in one of the most inept ways possible.

Yes, this is why the New York Yankees redesign their uniforms every season.

Very True, its all perspective. It's like a non-sports fan jumping on a Hockey forum to telling all the fans there that they're dumb-dumbs for caring so much about a sport.

Once people think they've figured out their own world, they feel the need to mess with others who do not see the same world. You think humans would have figured this out by now. Guess it's also part of being human.

We aren't even in the same universe as the Yankees. Not in popularity, age, prestige, pedigree, or even market.
So what? We held ourselves with the same kind of franchise pride and self-respect, just like Detroit does. And then we decided that we'd sell that self-respect for the pocket change that comes with a new uniform. And we didn't even make it a nice one.

If you're product is above average, you're in the most famous city in the world, and you've been around forever, you don't need to even market your product anymore. You become a household name.
