These jerseys actually remind me of when Toronto removed the hem stripe for no reason in 2007. Those jerseys also looked empty. Luckily, these jerseys only lasted a few seasons before they added the hem stripe back.

Those are a lot more empty than our new ones. 1) Our stripes are larger so they're taking up more space, and 2) We have different color shoulders.

While there are similarities, there are more differences.c

My point was more about how they unnecessarily dropped the hem stripe when the league got new uniforms. And then added the stripe back shortly after.

good example. see guys, sometimes historic teams do questionable things to their uniforms.

it's like this slap in the face that could only happen to us to some of you.

this is the most distinctive part of our uniform (imo, i don't wanna start a riot) that sets us apart from other teams that wear red as their primary color and it's still there.

Toronto's always been kind of stupid about their uniforms. We were like Detroit and Chicago and we ****ed that up for no reason.

"Hey guys, it's ok that we did something stupid and unnecessary because teams with a longer history have done it too!"

That is some absolutely brilliant logic you've got there.

wow you really need to use the sarcasm emoji on everything or people freak the **** out

anyway classic i do agree on that though. i've always stood by the fact that this is shocking because our **** didn't change for literally 25 years, but i still don't necessarily dislike the new jerseys. it probably would have been a lot easier to take if the jerseys changes like three times since 1992.

difference of opinion is good. i think the new sweater will sell plenty of copies for at least the first two years. then by 2022 they'll be in a hybrid that looks closer to what we used to have with a new elements from the adidas sweater and then make more money, etc.

the logo is the same and the general theme/palette didn't change so i'm fine (personally), and as long as that is the case i could give a **** about proportions of stripes.

oh and ya i bought an edge 2.0 because it's beautiful and you can tell it's the same team

I find it very easy to spot sarcasm in people's posts on here. There was literally nothing in your post's word usage or tone to indicate sarcasm. Stop crying "I was being sarcastic" every time someone responds to your snide comments directed at people who hate the jersey change.

Why don't the Devils just engage with their fans more, and make this go away. A very small percentage of fans like the jersey. Everybody else hates it to some degree.

Just admit your mistake and be honest and most of this goes away!

"We appreciate your feedback/input ---- we understand the majority of you are not satisfied with the end result ---- we are determined to make it right ---- due to certain rules/restrictions/contractual obligations we cannot make a return to the nicer jerseys until 2018/2019 etc"

Something like this. That's all it takes really. I just don't get why the Devils are not doing a better job reaching out and communicating with the fans who are very upset and angry with this.

They could never do that because then there would be zero people buying jerseys this year, in addition to make addidas/the league really pissed off.

The only way it's going to change back is if the new jerseys don't sell. Yelling on social media about it probably isn't going to do much because people yell on social media all the time about everything, so it's just white noise at this point.

my dude, you need to step off the ledge. This is never going to happen so I don't get why its even being discussed.

These are our jerseys, at least for a couple years, so you might as well just deal with it

The part that angers me the most is that I still don't understand they they would ever do this. Anyone with the most basic knowledge of our team/history/fan base would know that this is a horrible idea. Its like at no point in the process, did they ever stop and think "how will the fans like this change?"

One other thing I'm starting to notice is all of the new ancillary gear like t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. that bear the overly wide stripes and general themes of the new design. It looks every bit as bad (or worse) so I'm thinking that stuff might not fly off the shelves either if there's really that many fans out there that can't stand the look of our new jersey.

Makes me wonder if you'll eventually see some licensed manufacturers trot out more 'vintage' gear to mimic the old Reebok design.

That hem strip on the bottom is so pointless, we wear black pants so you can't even see it.

It really is. That's probably my biggest pet peeve. I'm not as broken up as many over these (I also expect some refinement in a few years time), but that black edge is just pointless.

It was all BS.

The team paid homage to its ****** past (or location) for everyone to see.

They put the success in green (they didn't really have any in green of course) and hid it where no one will see it while being worn.

Stupid

I have to admit, that Carolina jersey looks pretty nice.

Unfortunately we've gone from probably the best jersey of those teams to the worst. Although I've never really been a fan of the Caps jerseys. They should just go to their retros permanently. And Columbus needs something different too.

I think panthers have the worst redesign of jerseys. Looks so horrible now...
