I hate to keep beating the Larsson horse but here's a question. Does anybody else think it's possible had there been no lockout that Larsson may have started the season in the AHL this year? Seeing as how we had 8 defensemen signed including him, but nobody else on two way contracts. I was actually fearing that would happen, and people thought I was crazy. Not because I thought he deserved to play in the AHL, but because we saw the short leash put on him towards the end of last season and into the playoffs. Well he hasn't been in the AHL since the lockout ended, but he must have been scratched for a third of the game already so far,

Remember when Tallinder got injured too in warm ups. Larsson and Fayne were supposed to be healthy scratches that night. Tallinder got injured in warm ups, and Larsson came back in. Fayne made it back in for one game, but was scratched after that for another 2 or 3 weeks.

Funny stuff. Larsson is better than all our vets suddenly. He would truly be shattered if he had to take their shifts against the top lines, on the pk and in the D zone faceoffs all the time.

Coaches know this but armchair HF knows better.

If he was the best D out there like everyone thinks, he would be on the top pairing and never sitting. No coach, no GM, would allow this to happen if it were true.

There's plenty of valid complaints to make about this season, but the ruining of Larsson and claiming he's better than all the vets is tinfoil hat material.

Who said best? He's better than Harrold and Volchenkov, that much is obvious.

I dont know why but I have a really good feeling about this game. Take the effort we gave on Thursday and put it in tonight and we should get 2 pts here. I really think were close to going on a streak. I think this team has more than enough gas left in the tank to turn this around and get back in the top 8. I have a good feeling about Sullivan as well. I really think he's gonna help. Just a gut feeling

We're not in must-win territory yet, but we're getting close.

The problem we have is the Rangers, Islanders, Caps, and Flyers are all playing better than us. Winnipeg is really the only team that has sucked ass like us thats in the race. I think this weekend is the start of the "every game is like a playoff game" scenario. We have to get at least 3 if not all 4 pts this weekend. We cant dick around anymore

It doesn't matter, we can lose the next 2 games and still control our own destiny, I think. IMO, depending on how this weekend goes, the must win games don't start until away at Toronto at the earliest. I expect them to really start with the Ranger game.

Larsson has played 61 games this season. We're in a tailspin and falling out of the playoffs so they have veterans playing.

It's not some huge ****ing problem like you guys are making it out to be. He is making big strides this year in his defensive play. Keep ranting over useless things.

However, bringing Josefson up was dumb.

He has improved his defensive game quite a bit, but the coaches are deliberately suppressing his offensive talents in order to do that. I don't think that was wise or necessary.

Larsson and Fayne should play every night. no questions asked, sorry.

I have no problem with them sitting if they've had a run of poor play just before. But ya, they should definitely be playing more regularly than somebody like Harrold.

I don't think that was insinuated. Besides Greene, Fayne and Zidlicky, he is solidly the 4th best defensemen on the team. Tallinder is probably in his vicinity as well. But Bryce, Volch and Harrold definitely should not take precedence over him.

Don't worry about the Caps. They are irrelevant and the Jets are in free fall. Rags overall are not playing well either. Two games against a sad Pitt team means squat. The flyers invent new ways to stumble on their faces.

Yea as soon as I typed that Philly gave up 4 unanswered  I dont know the Rangers seem somewhat rejuvenated after the trades. Seems like they got some of the depth back they lost in the summer. I'd honestly be surprised if they didn't make it. I really do think it might come down to us and Isles with the Caps winning the Southeast. I just cant see this team losing a playoff spot to the ********** New York Islanders.

Sal would be immensely easier to sit if he weren't wearing the C. I hope they pin that to Kovy's chest next season.

I don't think Salvador should be sitting when he is the only physical D-man on this team who isn't a liability

As far as Larsson and Josefson being in another room, not a big deal. Someone has to be, if your locker room only has 23 spots. At least Pete isn't scratching him via text (that we know of) the way Jacques did to Pando lol

I think tonight is more for the team's mentality. With a win tomorrow isn't a must either but again mentality wise it could be too. This weekend is important to string two together.

They have to win sooner or later without Kovy in the lineup and they need to build on the game in Boston. No more ****ing around and following a great game in Ottawa with three straight clunkers.

Still don't understand why the coaching staff wants Larsson to work on his defensive game only when Devils have a bunch of stay at home defensemen. We need an offensive dmen more than a good defensive dmen.
