It took Adam Henrique 357 games to score 100 and took Nico 354.

I kind of thought that was interesting.

Just checked it out for fun, when Henrique scored his first goal, he was 21 years old and 270 days. Nico was 18 years and 288 days when he scored his.

At the age Henrique scored his first, Nico had 51 NHL goals.

And now do the math with years from their born.
Did it right here if you're interested.

When you consider that every game we go head to head with Pittsburgh is a 4 point game between the two teams point totals, that we are 3 - 0 with them accounts for nearly all the 13 points we lead them by. They did pick up a loser point though.

When you sweep a team you compete against the effects are devastating to the loser in your race against them. In the past couple of years we were regularly getting swept within our division - by the likes of Washington, Columbus, maybe Pittsburgh one year too? This year we are the ones doing the sweeping.

This game buried the Penguins. Maybe Calgary finally cools the Rangers off tonight?

I don't know about you guys, but I'm really not scared to play the penguins like back then. I think we will manhandle them for years to come

Henrique has always been a pretty solid goal scorer. Not a great or anything and only has one 30 goal season, but he's been a pretty solid goal scorer and still remains, which I thought he would have fallen off by now years ago, which was my rationale for moving on from him before we even did. He's aging very well.

And he has a higher career shooting percentage than Alex Ovechkin and just a little bit lower than Steven Stamkos.

And probably a higher shooting percentage than a ton of greats.

Higher percentage than Jaromir Jagr and identical to Gordie Howe.

But shots weren't tracked for the first 13 years of Gordie Howe's career. The league didn't start tracking shots on goal until apparently the 1959-1960 season.

Right... Nico had a 3 year head start.

But only a year difference in the achievement.

Adam Henrique was was 25 going on 26 in 4 months when he scored 100 and Nico just turned 24.

Wrong player though.
This is actually incorrect. Henrique scored his 100th career goal on October 29th 2016 against Tampa, when he was 26 years, 8 months and 23 days old, so 26 going on 27.

Nico scored his 100th at 24 years, 1 month and 14 days old. So just turned 24. More than 2 and a half years younger.

This year is the proverbial changing of the guard between us and the Penguins. Our window is opening while theirs closes. Jack on the way up, Sid the Kid fading. No kid anymore.

But what, they had 3 cups out of the Crosby era? Every dog has its day. It’s our turn now. May we be fortunate enough to pick up multiple cups in the coming decade.

Henrique never scored 60 points once let alone at 23. Henrique had one 30 goal season. Let’s see how it plays out. It’s not a great comparison outside one stilted view of one stat.

They're old

Them and the Caps are still living off of the fumes of their contending/cup teams and that window.

And that window currently only has enough room for those teams to just make the playoffs, but not do any damage when they get in.

It's been that way for years now. Neither team has won a series since 2018, despite making the playoffs every year since.

Caps last playoff series win was the 2018 Stanley Cup Finals.

Pens last playoff series win was the first round of 2018, which was their first playoff series after winning their second straight cup. They lost to the Caps in the second round that year, who would go on to win the cup.

Both teams have way too many key players in their late 30's.

There is no stilted view ...it really took them the same amount of time to score 100.

And the funny part about it is most here used to argue that he was replaceable because of how streaky his scoring was. Do you remember?

It's Saturday night, a lot of us our toasted and happy for a good win, why do you continue to try to kill people's good moods? It's total bullshit Jim, knock it off.
What's killing your mood? How long it took Nico to score 100 or me mentioning it?
