Arizona was locked in on Cooley and they knew we weren’t.

Seattle knew we want nemec (and they probably wanted him) so that deal never works, nor does one below.

We took my 3rd ranked guy at 2, not worth getting mad about.

Yep, once Slaf went we lost all leverage to trade back. Per reports Seattle was locked in on Nemec, AZ was wanting a C they would of had Cooley even if we took Wright so they weren't trading back.

It’s unlikely he was getting past 4. Seattle liked him from the sounds of it. Doubt it would make sense for either of Seattle or Arizona.

Agree. The only possible deal that NJ could of made is swapping Pick 2 with Columbus for Pick 6 and Pick 12, providing they had a hard on for Wright.

Turns out they were content in taking two defenseman with their picks.

I was hoping for Slaf but happy with Nemec. Honestly if we wanted Slaf that bad we prob could have traded up for it. The scouts must be really high on Nemec and it's certainly a safe pick. It's been extremely rare for the 1st or 2nd D taken to bust. Our top 4 will be really scary in a few years.

Krug is a fine player, and it’s not like Seguin is a superstar, but you just Don’t do that. Six first rounders in the last three years and he’s made two good picks. Go ahead, bookmark away.

If Wright was BPA at 2OA then why didn't the Coyotes pick him? I don't buy the "Coyotes thought a razzle dazzle American center would sell tickets better then a Canadian two way Center" Argument.

If The Coyotes drafted Wright then I would understand the anger over not drafting Wright over Nemec but if two professional teams with all their scouts didn't think Wright was worth their pick then perhaps there is something wrong with Wright?

Holtz wasn't baffling at all. Would I have made it? No. Doesn't make it baffling. It was reasonable.

No need to rush him, the ultimate plan would be to get him and Hughes a cup of coffee at the end of the season and then go into 23 with Hughes and nemec on tbe big club
