No I mean the Rangers are good and don’t work together lol. I was specially replying to the latter  I actually think NJ is a more cohesive unit. The lose guys want to stick and grow together and with the guys they got and some great suprises they are gojng to be competitive soon. I’ve been saying that a while now

But yeah. Rangers are a headless incohesive group is what I was saying.

oh, well i dunno about that. honestly dont know what to make of this. im not a ranger fan but i like watching good hockey and i thought thats what they would play this season. still think come march they are ahead of the devs in the standings. i like zuc, i like shat, i like nash, sans the elbow tonight. hope they pull it together. will be more fun if we are both competing.

Does PDO count empty net goals?
I posted all strengths, but you can find PDO for 5-on-5. My main point was that our shooting % is not going to stay this low.

Maybe someone else can confirm, but it terms of generating scoring chances, I don't think this team is doing much differently than last year. Bad shooting % makes things look worse than they are sometimes.

Well if it counts empty net goals that may in part explain the poor "save %". 3 empty net goals in 5 games is a lot and the shooting percentage of empty net goals is 100%. Although save % does sound like there should be a goalie in the net.

Agree on all points but I think New Jersey can slot higher this year if Hynes gets a lot out of them. They’re simply going up and the Rangers are going down is the way I see it. I want NJ to do well. It makes great rivalry and better hockey when they play. I hope both remain competitive and amp it up as the season goes on. I don’t reallt have a lot of malice for NJ. Was my favorite rivalry as a kid and now. NJ never struck me as a team that stays bad for very long. It’s hard to word that right so I hope you get what I mean. Like they usually get it going again real quick and they’re starting to have it happen.

I come and lurk on the NJD board a lot but don’t post much. Might have to to stay updated a little more.

yeah I know, it`s hard to read this coach in post games. And it`s first time experience for Ryan Mc. he mentioned he had never experience such a bad start in NHL.

That's a good point. This is all from natural stat trick if you're curious, great little site.

3 of our losses the Rangers were the better team IMO. Great goaltending and bad luck.

I wish they'd fire AV and then hire someone horrible. Maybe then people will realize that AV is a good coach.

His style works for a while and then breaks down. It’s happened before and his tendencies when he gets comfortable are really bad. He WAS good. But other coaches are out performing him. There is more to be had from these players too but a responsibility to get it out rests on the staff’s shoulders too.

Right now I hate that we didn't keep Stepan and his NTC. This team is a huge mess because we traded probably the most essential cogpiece we had in offense, without really replacing him. Watching what's going on with this team is making me nauseous

Hindsight is 20/20, but yeah...I'm starting to realize that Stepan may have been a glue of sorts. Remember him interviewing teammates all the time about NCAA football, March Madness, the Super Bowl, and other stuff? It aways got a lot of laughs. I think Stepan garnered much respect with his mates. There was a mutual love there. Might be part of the reason this team looks lifeless 2/3 of every game.

There are two generational players in the NHL today. Sidney Crosby, and Connor McDavid.

The whole idea of a generational talent, is that there is only one per generation. Not several.

Other players are insanely good, and absolutely future hall of famers, but the term generational is reserved for that one player who is above the rest. And that is Crosby, and now McDavid.

How about Tanner Glass? That's a player that only comes along once in a generation ;)

Just woke up. Boy, I had an awful dream. The team started 1-5, and stud Kreider has zero goals. It was awful. Oh wait.... Goddammit.

I really enjoyed the camera shot of Vigneault's face on the ice after the loss tonight.

I don't recall seeing that very often.

Even the cameraman and the production crew is aware of the obvious writing between the lines on the wall.

Yeah. I thought the exact same thing there. Good point

I told myself not to worry before ten games had passed, losing a few off the boot can happen. But it's getting increasingly difficult, there's no spark in the team and I don't know what could fix it. AV is practicing trial and error, putting lines together every game by pulling names out of a hat.

Most of the guys have performed below expectations to put it mildly. Maybe it'll settle somewhat, we won't end the season with the same W/L ratio as now, but I had higher hopes for this year.

This team was built on 4 lines scoring last year. Not on a single line or a small group of players. They lost Lindberg and Stepan and I believe most people thought Grabner would revert back to his norm. The team added Desharnais.

This team, just by losing those two centers has taken a step back. The hope was that the defense could offset some of that loss but that hasn't been the case yet. DeAngelo should be playing every night. No question.

Are we all really this surprised by this team struggling a little? Last year when guys struggled they could hide due to the depth. That's not going to be possible this year.

Stepan? Please. Love the guy, true Ranger, but he would be making not one iota of difference in the current situation. The guy can hardly keep up with the pace of today's game.

It's a flawed team and we're breaking down at crucial moments....and once we break down I get the sense anyway that we're not coming back. Things I have noted a lot of--we get bottled up in our defensive end and the neutral zone a lot. We're turning the puck over a lot--teams are forechecking us hard--taking time and space away from us. The Rangers fast game is not working at all--fact is we don't look very fast.

Again whatever we do--don't trade that first round pick.

But the Predators got P freaking K Subban in that trade. Shatty ain't no PK, Andersson is at least a year away and ADA is a giant question mark.
ADA is a giant question mark? IMHO, he's been one of the 4 best D we've put on the ice. I wish AV would just play him consistently and let him find his place. I also think Vinny Lettieri should be called up. Can't get worse.
