Who cares man? We won two cups, and if Lombardi, who is much closer to the situation than any of us thought enough of him to bring him back and make him assistant GM, isn't that good enough?

I was pissed at the time, but I'm totally over it. No reason to hold a grudge, life's too short.

I don't get it man. It's been 13 years since the trade happened. I could think of others who did much more damage to the organization who aren't as despised as Blake is. I guess going on to win the Cup the same year he was dealt just never sat well with others. Kind of like those jilted Blue Jackets fans who continue to have irrational hatred towards Jeff Carter.

Carter was only there for a bit over half a season, and his work ethic was strongly questioned there from what I remember. Plus they gave up Voracek and some high draft picks as well. I can understand that bitterness, though a lot of that is just poor assett management by Howson.

Well said. So many hate on the guy when they don't really know what took place; press releases always overplay the news.
Not one player has ever said a negative thing about Blake and they were all much closer to the goings on than a bunch of fans getting their nose bent out of shape.
Everytime his name comes up, the same ones spout the same negative crap, over and over. As you said, move on people.

p.s.
As I said at another site long time ago. Why don't the haters go out, buy yourselves a voodoo doll, paint Blakes name on them and have at it, sticking pens in them.
That'll accomplish just as much as all the *****ing does and might make you feel better.

Ole Butchie was one hell of a player however, he wasn't the same type of player Blake was. When Blake threw a hipcheck, it was a thing of beauty. His slapshot from way out of the perimeter, if didnt' go in, gave the guys around the net chances for rebounds. He was a loyal King player for many years but, some refuse to remember those years. Of all the greatness, some choose to dwell on a single event in his career. How sad.:shakehead

One thing for sure about this game. It will be a lot more fun to watch than the old Devils team was. They had such a D system that all they did was sit back, block shots and made for real boring games.
 
Devils playing road game mega shell. Just gotta keep pounding the forecheck and will be important to score first
