Let me repeat that I'm kind of concerned with VV right now.

This was the game that was supposed to restore his confidence or whatever and he gave up 4 goals.

4 goals to THIS rinky-dink team.
He had a stretch like this in December.

Back then the team just wasn't winning in that stretch, that was our one extended cooler of the season but we're actually still winning now in spite of him not being at his best.

Sorry but this game is an embarrassment.

We got the 2 points but the fact that we needed OT to beat this shitty team in this shitty building really pisses me off.

This is the type of game that has the pundits dismiss this team's chances in the playoffs.

They'll be all like "if they struggle to beat a Yotes team, they've got zero chance to go far against better teams....hurr hurr hurr".
The Bruins lost to the Coyotes in regulation and no one is saying that.

Ok. There’s nothing we can do about it.

Better goalies than Vanecek have had rough patches and have played fine in the playoffs.

It’s a long 82 game season.

Lindy said he needs to review the goals against Vitek to determine if they're bad or not.

Maybe we should post your thread on Twitter and tag NJDin it?
I'd only nail him on goal 2, but he looked a bit scrambly on goals 1 and 4.

Can't blame him too much, as those were fire drills, particularly the fourth one, but he didn't look as calm and collected as he had up until about 4 or 5 games ago.

sigh....I want to be Positive about this and I usually say "a win is a win" but...It's the Coyotes!!

The Devils are and should be BETTER than that.

VV should be BETTER than that.

Meh.

I guess the only good thing is we did get the 2 points.

Let's hope the Toronto War Room doesn't take away 3 goals again from us in the next game.

Bahl has played really well and I do not panic when I see him with the puck…unlike the grenade handler that is Brendan Smith. It takes young D-men some time. Bahl really seems to be turning a corner. The thought of Smith in the playoffs makes me want to puke. With Bahl’s emergence and steady play, coupled with Luke on his way late in season, we should be feeling pretty good that we won’t be forced to play that stiff.

Arizona is somehow a combined 4-1 this year against Boston, Tampa, and Toronto. Bad teams beat good teams, or at least give them trouble like tonight literally all the f***ing time in this league. So they didn't pound Arizona to dust. Big whoop. They still won. Take the points and move on to a more meaningful opponent.

In hindsight I am glad this franchise did not break the bank for hall which was really a blessing in disguise. The two main pieces in that trade (mercer, bahl) have paid dividends ten fold

And we flipped the other pick to Washington for Siegenthaler. All of that adds up to make it a sneakily better return that it appeared at the time of the trade.

Boston lost there in regulation this season.

Relax.

Some really have to stop getting worked up on individual game performances like that (the game wasn’t even bad at all btw).

We just ran through arguably the top 2 teams in the West before tonight. It’s the end of the trip, in a shitty arena and to a team with nothing to lose who has beaten the Hurricanes and Bruins this year already.

It’s not that deep and not indicative of anything deeper.

We for sure didn’t do him any favors tonight with our play in front of him. That Hamilton turnover on the tying goal was god awful. Thankfully he atoned for it with the pass to spring Nico for our game winner.

Despite playing very flat for large stretches, it always felt like we controlled the game. We just had so much more talent on the ice then they did. Quite impressive that.

At least Timo time was worth the wait, i guess.

Oh and someone please tell Bratt that he's free to re-join the team anytime he likes. :squint:

I know you are not saying you dislike Bratt, but my only complaint with JB is when he layoffs a pass to someone that should be option #5 on his list of plays and/or springs the other team for a play. He's an important piece on this team. I just wish he would sign at 7 on 7 and sign up for this hockey ride known as the Devils.

Sometimes non-playoff teams who are young and well coached see a team at the top of the standings come into their building and use it as a measuring stick game. Give them credit for playing hard. They aren't tanking and play with pride. We won the game even though we weren't at our best. This isn't the last time this season we will see a bad team throw everything they have at us. It's a good test for our young team who's getting ready for playoff hockey.
