Wait til Dubas realizes Karlsson will do f*** all for their back end. Defensive play will not improve.

Personally, I hope he remains a Shark. Karlsson chased money, let him lie where he is. That said, seeing Kyle overpay for 4 years of Karlsson would be lovely.

I’m sure Treliving inquired about Karlsson pre free agency and the price was to high and/or San Jose wasn’t willing to retain enough salary.

Klingberg was plan b.

There’s no way Treliving would still be interested in Karlsson.

Yep. I'm fine with Elliot on a league minimum deal.

But I also don't want him negatively impacting the development of our young goalies. So at the AHL level if he's sitting down there, i wouldn't want him to be the starter.

Agreed - probably never made sense based on the caphit, but with us already having added Klingberg, it especially doesn't make sense now.

It's a Howard Berger tweet - who the hell talks to him? He was a local Toronto reporter like 15 years ago, so can't see any San Jose insider sources. In Toronto, he wasn't liked by the organization at the time. Factor in all the turnover, and the Leafs reputation for being pretty air tight, I highly doubt he has any legit insider connections.

Several team execs, sponsors and player agents tell me they are bracing for the NHL's possible release of an investigation report re an alleged sexual assault involving as many as eight players on Canada's 2018 world juniors team.
If NHL names and suspends players allegedly involved, affected players would likely appeal any sanctions to an arbitrator, as per CBA, and may pursue defamation lawsuits vs league, said agent of one player who attended 2018 Hockey Canada gala.
(While an investigating officer in October wrote in court documents he believes there are grounds to charge at least five players, police in London continue to decline comment other than to say an investigation is ongoing.)

Could explain why Comtois and Foote weren't qualified (although you could argue that their output played a large role in that as well). Formenton seems to be a certainty to be on the list.
