I don’t think Duchene should cost anywhere near that on the heels of his buy out. If he wants to win, he should accept something around 4 max
Duchene is another player with the losing stink on him. If Trotz thinks he deserved a buyout ill trust him on that. No interest in bringing him in

No, I'm saying if you want to make an argument at least have facts on your side. Schenn was legit in Vancouver. Flat out ignoring that as you did is wrong.
Says the guys who does nothing but whine and complain about everything.

He has 142 points in his last 149 games. I would easily go over 5 for him.

I agree he’s been good, and has good numbers, but he should be looking to take a contract that allows him to take a crack at winning over money. He’s getting buyout money in addition to whatever he signs for

Seeing the money in NHL free agency the day after NBA free agency is kind of hilarious though. I am pretty sure NBA trainers are getting paid 4 mill a year now.

He's only 32, and doesn't rely on speed to be effective. When O'Rielly's contract ends, he'll be younger than Reaves, who they had no trouble signing to a 3 year contract. 4.5m should be good value for O'Rielly. Also, O'Rielly missed a grand total of 5 games in the 5 years before this one. Hope we got something brewing, because so far we've just overpaid one of the worst and oldest 4th liners in the league.
You're comparing Reeves contract to ROR? Lol

I hate to say it though, Simmonds broke down 7 years ago
He hasn't played full season in about 8 years, the most he played in that span one season of 64 games

he was a mistake from day 1

Nah, it was a good gamble. I said when he signed that he could be what Gary Roberts used to be, and he was damn good until he got hit with a puck and broke his hand.

What options remaining are...good?

I honestly wasn't expecting to head into free agency with the core still in tact, but as that is currently happening, I'm not even sure what to "hope for" anymore

I never thought I'd say this but I think I'm starting to miss Dubas.
Then you are the only one

Look what he left us with if he was so great

No draft picks in a year where it was one if the strongest drafts

Name one draft pick besides knies who is a regular on the team. After 7 years

Gifted matthews marner nylander reilly and tavares
And he failed to build around them
Gave them all NMC on the same day as his contract would have ended

Cried on tv about love for leafs and family loves toronto. Sugns next day in Pitts and takes family and states pittsburgh feels like home

Glad to get rid of that phoney prick
