Hey Winnipeg fans,

I know we haven’t been your favorite franchise. And a lot of you probably despise the fact that my favorite team exists.

But for your sake, I hope Tocchet isn’t your next head coach. He’s just so, so bad at being head coach.

Much love, good luck next season.

I agree with this. If Tocchet is our coach, we will need the luck and probably another coach as well. Hopefully he likes his media spot more than he likes the Idea of coaching

What’s the gist on Tocchet, I’ve never watched him as a coach but know most of his HC career has been pretty bad.

What type of teams/ systems does he go for?

Honestly, just for laughs I'd love to see Tocchet turn the Jets down. Just get Arniel/Blashill and tank at this point.

I wonder if True North would look in the mirror for what they've assembled here if Tocchet turns them down.

Yeah like the 08-09 and 09-10 Tampa Bay Lightning with Stamkos, St Louis, and peak Lecavalier.

Maybe Tocchet comes recommended from James Wright?

Exactly this. At least arguably the most talented team Maurice had was with us

Tocchet has had better teams and made them worse. His years with the Bolts were some of their most disappointing during Stamkos’ tenure there

He is a good assistant coach. But just as our Coyotes fan visitor stated, he is very bad at being a head coach. He did have some good talent on his Yotes teams too.

If a coach with Tocchet's record wants to coach and your team is getting turned down

Sounds like Rick T could be the guy, I’ll wait to see how he does with the team on the ice. Wasn’t my favourite pick but wasn’t one of my least favourite picks either. IMO, he’s a “I’ll wait to how he does” type of pick.

This whole thing is the definition of "be careful what you wish for". I was opposed to firing Maurice because I believed there was a good chance that whoever his replacement was could be worse, in hindsight I wish Paul hadn't fired himself and we stuck with "the devil you know". The only coach that I would have been less excited for than Tocchet is Carlyle.

I don't know how I feel about having a coach who "has to mull it over." I thought they all wanted the gig no matter who was making the offer? What's up?

Not that I really care at this point. There's no real excitement left in the announcment...it feels like we're getting (edit) lukewarm leftovers...

I can just see Chevy’s presser introducing Tocchet “ he was our guy from the start”. Meanwhile they offered the job to 3 other guys and 2 janitors first.

If this experiment doesn’t work, what will the fans do? With Season ticket holders already dropping and sell outs not happening, what does it look like in a 2-3 year tank type cycle?

I’m afraid!

OK, pretty sure that has been on the Do Not Say List since the days of Sean Avery.
