SKA ha their first game in the new arena today vs Sochi. Will they play all games from now on in the new arena? What is happening to the old arena, which isn't all that old.

Guessing yes, SKA will play at SKA Arena their games.

If speaking about Ledovy Dvorets, no confirmation yet. I would not be surprised if Dynamo St.Petersburg (VHL) moved there. Just my opinion, no confirmation.

It has been the most attended hockey match* of the season in all world. The most attended NHL game was played on January 16 at Bell Centre while Habs hosting Avs with 21205 fans in stands.

* played at regular hockey arena

To reply you again with more info on Ledovy Dvorets. They consider to move SKA Neva (VHL) there, starting with the 2024 playoffs.

New arena in Perm. The price has increased to 19.4 billion Rubles, up from 17,1 bln Rubles. The project is being reworked to increase the capacity to 12,000 seats, up from 10,000 seats. It should be completed no later than July 1st, 2027. The construction should begin in 2024. The prep work on site has been completed.

One of the digital boards on SKA arena has caught fire during the night.
And that caused a reconstruction that is rumored to take up to a year.
So it looks like ForsberForever was right:
Why are they rushing SKA's arena to completion?? it looks like it needs a few more months worth of work, not weeks.
There are no words to explain how disappointing it is, however, football Gazprom Arena was also mocked for years (too slow, too expensive, birds damaged it etc.), and nobody remembers that trolling now, because it's one of the best stadiums in the world. Hoping for the same success for Ska Arena.

Why do they do it? The Potemkin arena I mean. It was clearly not finished and not safe (e.g. blocked emergency exits).

It's like they want to show the world how great they are but these kind of events just further embarass them. Opening an arena before it's finished is just reckless and stupid.

Plus a new arena with more than 10 000 seats in Tyumen. And Tula? Besides Nizhniy Novgorod, Ekaterinburg & Perm.

How many new arenas does Moscow need? Is building sports arenas Russia's biggest industry?

How many new arenas does Moscow need?
As much as possible (for kids & youth). Seriously, all 3 teams want the arena to be their while located in their territory. That is a reason why Spartak/CSKA will get a new arena. Even though Luzhniki is associated with Dynamo as well. Seems no deal on Sokolniki, so chose Luzhniki. Megasport is a good indore arena, but not suited for hockey.

Is building sports arenas Russia's biggest industry?
You say ... It is true that many new arenas have been built recently. I would not be surprised if cities like Kazan, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, and maybe Khabarovsk with Vladivostok to get a new arena over 10 000 seats in next 5-10 years. Plus Tula if rumours are true. Nizhniy Novgorod & Ekaterinburg will be done within months. Perm & Tyumen should start constructions soon.

CSKA? The one they use was built in 2013 so why the need for another? is it location or something else?
Hi. Location. They want the arena to be built on their home at Leningradsky Prospekt. The arena they have been playing now is not theirs. The new arena at Leningradsky will include facilities for all CSKA teams (kids-juniors-senior).
