Speculation: Need a New Coach: John Tortorella

You don't know what your talking about. Torts has won a Stanley Cup and the Jack Adams trophy twice. Yes he is a take no crap kind of coach. yes he pushes his players hard but they produce. The Blue Jackets have less talent then the Leafs and under Torts they have gone farther in the playoffs and to cap it off. His team eliminated the talented Leafs last year with less talent. The reason the Leafs choke is because of the mentality that you have. Which is be nice to the players, don't say or do anything that might upset them. They will not play if you hurt there feelings. This is a MANS game and if you don't like being pushed hard to your limit and called out when you choke then go play skip rope or something else.

If he was able to do that with essentially a Top tier AHL team imagine what he could do with the firepower in our lineup! I’m
All in for Torts! I really believe he’s the only one that can get the best outta this team. There’s not a greater motivator in the NHL.

Gallant would be top of my list.
I don’t think Keefe is in jeopardy though.

Thats the problem with this entitled squad they get away tuning out authority which is needed and whomever cries pouts or tunes out should be removed and traded and get rid of this Country club once for all, I'm not sayin it has to be Torts but these entitled brats need a good piece of mind thrown at them

AM reg season looked like a man possessed however did not see that other than 1 game.
Tired of the obviously, obviously crap in post game interviews with a sullen face doesn't get it done, it should be I'm freakin pissed, I have to find a way to be better replies, showing more emotion that your not happy with what transpired and following up in action.

They might need some changes.
I’d make some trades. Rebuild the bottom six. Get some real grit. A starting goalie. Maybe change coach’s if things aren’t working by December, but I definitely would not touch Tortorella. He’s not right at all for this team. I’d like coach Q if the Florida rumours are true about moving on for financial reasons or Gallant

I agree and I'm 100% behind the Torts idea. It's crystal clear that there is an attitude/culture problem with the Leafs. Look at the supporting cast too. It spread. Remember how fired up Simmonds was at the start of the series.....pointing fingers at players and ready to go? Then he became completely subdued. Something spread in that room.

If players can't handle the new, nicer Torts then they should not be on the team. To be fair, I think 90% of the team can handle him. If you recall, guys like Tavares and Rielly actually liked, and defended, Babcook and I cannot see them having an issue with Torts either. Brodie, Holl, Muzzin, Bogosian, Spezza, Campbell.....no issues. If we're being honest, it comes down to AM, MM, and WN. It's becoming apparent to me that WN really isn't the diva people thought he was. He has matured. Also, if you recall, he begged Dubas not to trade him even though he had no clue that Babcock was going to get fired. Doesn't sound like he was fazed by Babcock aka a tough coach.

AM and MM. MM would be an issue. Paul would also be an issue. He would have to be traded in a Torts scenario. Simplest solution. So, it's really down to AM. Just one player. I think he will respond, personally. He played physically in the regular season and Torts would not have bothered him at all during those games. If he plays like he did this year in the playoffs though, Torts would lose it on him, as he should. If he had a problem with that......we would then have to rethink what we do with him for the last 2 years.

The fact that Torts hasn’t already been brought in for an interview just shows that this organization has exactly NO intention of icing a winning product.

Toronto, Buffalo and Edmonton should all be backing up a brinks truck to Torts door right now. All 3 organizations need him, and it would be the best move any of them have made in the last decade+. All 3 are pathetic organizations and they probably won’t even reach out to Torts. They all deserve what they get and have been getting for the last decade.

I've always liked Keefe. He really angered me in game 6. Splitting up Kerfoot and Willy was beyond dumb. Then THAT challenge. What the hell was he thinking? I was against a coaching change. But after game 6 and still being in a lousy mood. I'd consider it. I'm not sure Torts is the right guy for this team though.

Yep I agree, If you play hard even for Torts then you as a player would have absolutely nothing to worry about but if your a whiner, pouter and play like a primadona when you feel like it to play complacent or keep making the bone headed give aways then look out you will be riding the pines or a healthy scratch and he will call you out, that is the way it should be.

As of right now there is not one coach or any one in personnel who is an authorative figure and these guys answer to no one
