I’m very concerned about those who lost their lives and those who were injured. My heart goes out to their families."The pickup used in the attack is registered to a 42-year-old Houston man, according to law enforcement officials familiar with the evidence,"

Personally, I think we should be more concerned about the folks who lost their loved ones. Hoping @JojoTheWhale can check in
I imagine that comes down to whether or not the authorities believe there's an ongoing threat to the area. The logistical nightmare of postponing this game would be disastrous for the playoffs considering the schedule is already stretched to the absolute extreme.
For those that were wondering, Bourbon Street has metal barricades that go up at night on either side of the bar/restaurant district that were under repair and out of commission last night. That seems like a mistake that's going to end in a ton of litigation. I would imagine this also puts an end to Bourbon Street as traditional thruway during the day and the whole area will be changed moving forward.
@JojoTheWhale was going to the game, so hopefully he's able to confirm he's all good.
They just identified the guy & believe he might not have been working alone. They recovered two IED’s in two different locations from crash site. So I guess that could muddy the waters if they feel there’s a still a potential lingering threat.
But yeah hopefully Jojo is good.
Glad to hear that you are ok and safely home.Thank you, friends. Truly. We passed through that area about a half hour earlier on our way to the hotel we managed to snag. I didn't know anything was wrong until my wife called in a panic. But I just didn't feel like going to a football game, so I managed to get on a flight out this morning. Home safely now.
Good to hear! The quarter is a pretty tight area, so anyone there was potentially at risk. Scary situation for you and your wife.Thank you, friends. Truly. I’d be curious who these teams are. I’d also be curious if we’re using at the time of the game or the end of the season ranking.
I’d assume it was at the time of the game but that doesn’t always tell the story. For example Florida State gave two unranked teams a ranked win.
Truly lucky I almost never go to Bourbon. We were on Frenchmen all night and it just happened to be the easiest walk to the hotel down by the business district.
I think this is an official NCAA stat, so it's at the time of the game. And it's actually underselling it because 3 of the 4 were in 2007 (Louisiana-Monroe that everyone still talks about, FSU, and Miss St). The even more impressive way to phrase it is that he lost to one Unranked team at the time in 16 years -- 2021 TAMU.
We're never seeing that again.
No doubt. Things can get a little sketchy on the other side of Esplanade, so coming back down Bourbon is always my suggestion for people that walk up to Frenchman.Truly lucky I almost never go to Bourbon. Skatteboo is good but he isn’t twitched up like a Jeanty where he still scares the shit out of a defense with more talent.
