Why are we having a bowl game with teams from the same conference? I thought they make it so that doesn't happen. Did that change? Is it the drugs?

I didn't even realize Jim Mora was UCONN's head coach. So dude's head coaching trajectory is NFL (Falcons) -> NFL (Seahawks) -> NCAA (UCLA) -> NCAA (UCONN)

man. that's a wee bit of a downward spiral.

@JojoTheWhale talk me off the cliff of bullishness as this game approaches. Kirby, who is usually really quick to downplay anything in the media, and certainly not someone who heaps praise in pre-game lead-up, commented on the team rallying around Stockton and coming into this game with their best practices of the season. I don't know ND's personnel well enough, but are we going to see another Georgia LOS slugfest?

Btw, I was offered Sugar Bowl tickets but had to turn them down for lack of childcare options. Love those kids, but that one stings...

Ironically enough, it's probably the best coaching job of his career. The man won 9 games at one of the toughest FBS jobs in the country.

We're going to be in New Orleans for ~40 hours and we do not have a hotel. I am 100% going to die.

As undeniably great as Kirby is, I hate how he picks QBs and probably always will. Until/unless I am forced to reconsider, I will assume this is saving him from himself. To be fair, Beck did play genuinely well last year. But I never believed. And my word does it seem like no one liked him.

God bless on that front. I actually had a company apartment (weird, I know) in the warehouse district and free tickets. I would have driven in from Atlanta tomorrow and stayed through the 2nd.

Kirby's loyal to QB's to a fault at times. Stetson was obviously the right call in retrospect, but I really would have loved to see Fields for two years. With today's transfer climate that may have happened after two years of Fromm, but not in 2018. I'm not sure it would have made a difference against 19' LSU or 20' Bama, but it certainly would have been closer versus Fromm/Daniels. Managing that room properly is going to determine if Kirby stagnates at 2 national championships, or if he's able to vault into Saban territory when all is said and done.

Oregon must have destroyed this Boise State team when they played this year right?
Transitive property and college football, something, something. There's a reason this was a double digit spread.

Edit: I suspect the final score of this game to be closer than the details of the game suggest. No one is going to fold in a playoff game. Notre Dame/Indiana part two.
