2 loss LSU vs 1 loss USC is going to bring out the worst takes of the year.

Speaking of 2016 Penn St, LSU reminds me of their opponent in the Rose Bowl that year. 2016 USC clearly was not right to start the year, played an absolutely brutal schedule, and was also clearly one of the best teams in the country by December. Counting Penn St, USC played four(!) top 7 teams and 2 other ranked ones.

Yeah it might ultimately not matter given what those two teams have to go through. LSU obviously has Georgia. But USC will have to beat Notre Dame & likely Oregon/Washington in the PAC-12 CG.

I’m honestly convinced Ohio State & Michigan both make it the way things are shaping up.

Clemson is still out there with one loss but I don’t think they’re playoff caliber & the ACC is horrendous. I think the committee feels the same.

Yeah, even best case for Clemson, they'd be competing with 1 loss Michigan. As much fun as I make of the Michigan schedule, I think broad consensus would take them over Clemson with the same number of losses.

No chance in hell they get in over 1 loss Ohio St obviously. I think they clearly lose 4 (Georgia, B1Gx2, USC) of the 5 potential 1 loss tiebreakers and whether you prefer them to 1 loss TCU depends on what you personally value.

I'm at the point with Clemson where I wonder which teams can have an extra loss and still get in.

The 2024 QB class is going to be better than this year's, isn't it?

I was just thinking about that yesterday. I went and looked at a 2024 mock and it had Deion's QB at Jackson State (can't remember his name, initials SS) at like seven or 12 or something. Maye and C. Williams at the top, that guy, then Ewers around 20 or so.

Because he has a reasonable path to winning it.

But he sucks.

EDIT: Who is our QB next year?

i honestly can’t wait until these Covid year guys cycle out. It’s made tracking eligibility harder. But it seems like he technically could. This is his fourth year playing & 2020 didn’t count towards eligibility.
I think before NIL, even borderline NFL guys would bolt, but you can make decent coin now and try to improve your stock further (although as has been said 2024 looks like a strong QB class). Can also be in the Video Game next year.

What a wild box score that game is. Ole Miss had 700+ yards of offense but only scored 27 points & lost by 15 points to Arkansas. They had three turnovers to Arkansas’ zero but Arkansas only had 7 points off those turnovers.

I feel like he should probably just stay at Jackson State where he can recruit over his entire competition by a good margin.

Just because he has made commercials with Nick Saban doesn't mean that he's at the same level as a coach. Jackson State and a highly intense power five school job are two totally different things.
