That was a tough way to lose. I’d convinced myself that win or lose I’d be satisfied, because of the ending of K …. but … I also didn’t think they’d be able to hang with Kansas, much less have a 16 point lead at any point.

Amazing run. Tough way to lose. But better to be there than … not.

The lead evaporated so quickly it almost didn't feel like the comeback was the story by the end. By like 15 min left in the 2nd half it just became a fun back and forth game. If you can forget about the halftime lead, that 2nd half was a nailbiter. (Of course, those who don't like UNC won't forget about the halftime lead.)

As I said to my brother in law (UNC alum) “yes, people say it’s all gravy now, but they will be frustrated if UNC loses a close one.” And that’s not even getting into the lead.

UNC will have much better teams under Davis that won’t make it as far. Because that’s what the NCAA tournament is: chaos.

True that. Most random tournament ever.

So true. I am sure the players would agree. I know I wouldn't trade those moments and rides..the highs and lows and road trips with the fam..for anything. Hopefully, the Canes thrill rides will be returning once again quite soon.

Now, it's on to the recuperative watching of The Masters. It's a bittersweet week from One Shining Moment to a Tradition unlike any other. Love the scenery because it means spring has arrived.

Lukewarm take: the only reason Carolina had a 15-point lead was that Kansas couldn't hit a shot to save their life. They were missing layups and wide open jumpers throughout the first half.

If your game plan for beating a 1-seed is that a 36%-30% shooting advantage is going to hold up for another half, even while your shooting actually gets close to 10% worse, you gonna lose.

sounds like WVU might be in on the 7+ footer that just decommitted, they were the other team in the running when he picked NCSU. Sounds like some of the changes in Keatts staff were the cause.

Welcome to the transfer portal era. You need to be ready to reload at any moment because players can jump at any moment.

In this respect, Wake going for Steve Forbes was an inspired choice. He has experience coaching in junior college, which means having to reload large portions of his roster every year is nothing new.

Wake lost Alondes Williams (eligibility done), Whitt to transfer, Walton to the NBA draft, and may or may not lose Mucius and LaRavia.

This is going to be the new normal.

Pretty much this. The only teams that aren't going to be getting absolutely hammered by this are the ones where even the bench guys are getting 6 figures in NIL. And even then it's not a given, Kentucky just had 2 of their higher profile young depth guys transfer out.

NIL doesn't really help Kentucky as much as you'd expect with Calipari's recruiting style. A player who is in line for major playing time might stay for a second year, but most of UK's players are looking to the NBA ASAP. If they don't think they will get major minutes next year or they were recruited over, they can transfer somewhere without sitting out, play a year, and then get to the NBA ASAP.

Kentucky NIL money doesn't mean much when your plan involves the NBA draft in 12 months.

True. Kansas might be a more apt example in that regard since they're not all-in on the NBA feeder program idea the way Kentucky is for their depth players.

Louisville lost to TT today 70-38.

Louisville didn’t score for more than 10 minutes of basketball time. Scored their 13th point with 4:22 left in the half. They didn’t score again 14:10 left in the 2nd half.

Analytically, they are the worst ACC team since the 2004 expansion. Woof

They lost to some school I've never heard of a couple of weeks ago but it may have been an exhibition game. Either way it was bad, like D-3 or something.

Bellarmine. They did lose to a D3 school for their exhibition game as well. 0-5 start with 3, 1 point losses

If you told the Wolfpack men's team before every game that the opponent is a ranked Duke team and it's at home, they'd win like 90% of their games.

No joke. They'd dominant the f***ing sport. But I guess no one has told them yet. Maybe now is the time?
