So aside from Kansas exiting early yet again, U of Southern California looking like they could be the first 6 seed since the 90's to advance to the Final Four, they've got a solid team w/ balanced scoring.

Guess Shaka is going to Marquette.
solid move for both Marquette and Shaka. Texas still had Shaka on the hot seat. He hadnt improved their likeliness to win a championship after firing Barnes.

I guess I missed Marquette firing Wojo somehow.

I agree that it seems like a significantly better fit for Shaka and has that added benefit of resetting his hot seat clock.

I dont see who Texas turns to.

Berard is the name out front but is he a step up from Shaka? Berard got TT to the NC game one year in probably one of the worst FF groups in a long time (probably since UCONN vs Butler in the NC game). Berard isnt a big time recruiter either. The best recruit he snagged at TT was 32nd nationally.

Texas seems to have infinite amounts of money to support their program but they have to the least for return on investment. I understand that Austin is easier to recruit to than Lubbock but UT's basketball reputation or Berard dont have enough name recognition to change this thing over night.

Well he is a benefactor of only coaching at 2 blue bloods. Wins come at little easier that way.
There's a reason he ended up there to begin with and plenty of coaches have coached at blue bloods with way, way less success...

Guy is a great coach. And probably will rightfully call when he wants to go.

I've never heard of a coach leaving right after winning a conference title. I'm sure it's happened but I'm not aware of it.

Hmm . . . Didn't Roy Williams leave Kansas right after not only winning the Big 12 conference title but taking them to the NCAA Championship game that year as well?

Yes his buddy left for the NBA

Sports radio shows have been complaining about how this tournament has been "awful" because the blue bloods aren't in it. Well, this is what happens when you embrace one and done, eventually the Senior laden teams of Loyola and such take over.

And, so what if Duke/Kentucky/UNC are out. The last thing college hoops needs is to be like college football or the NBA and have the same damn teams year after year. Let Oral Roberts and Abilene Christian have their shining moments.
Oh wah cry me a river.

Personally, I love new schools getting their opportunity to shine. Having the same schools playing for the title every year gets real old real quick. Looking at you, football.

Yea I don’t get it either. The small teams getting their ‘shining moment’ is what makes the NCAA tournament great.

what these radio personalities should be talking about is the tournament, even with the upsets, really isn’t as compelling without a full compliment of fans. We talk about how overrated the Big 10 was / usually is. SEC basketball is starting to turn the corner from being only Kentucky in basketball. That is why they added Missouri, who has been poopie in basketball since leaving the Big 12 (whoops).

If i was going to complain about anything (outside of ones and dones for many years) its basketball in the last 25 years has went from a team game to a game of individuals making some really good plays. It gets a little boring to watch between the great individual plays. But that is just my old man soap box. College basketball used to be my obsession. Now its in the middle of the pack of things I could pay attention to if on.
