The Melo trade haunts the Knicks. The pick they included in that became superstar Jamal Murray.

Nothing against the Nets, but I really don’t understand what anyone is complaining about with the knicks. We’re actually rebuilding for once & have a coach who might just know a thing or two about youth development. Of course, it looks ugly when KP is out and our other top young talent can’t even have a beer after the game.

But it's hard not to be excited sitting in the 5th pre-lottery spot with Knox starting to show out, Frank flashing as things start to slow down for him & we're seeing him attacking the paint with some success, Mitch already having made more progress than I expect from him all year, Dotson looking like a legit 3&D guy moving forward, Trier looking like a nifty microwave scorer off the bench, and if Vonleh gets brought back he'd be an excellent bench big who can board, bring the ball up the court, defend the rim & perimeter, and stretch the court with a 3ball he's hitting at an above average rate.

I'm not buying Mudiay's jumper until that hitch is gone...and it's not like we have Lightning-like overflow of young talent...but that's 5 players who are 23 or young & look like they can be quality parts of the rotation moving forward. And that without KP, our 2019 FRP or a max FA for those kids to play off of.

People been crying for a rebuild through the draft for 18 years and they're doing exactly that, yet still complaints...

Micheal Kay was doing it a month ago when they had 4 wins at that point, said "they need to start winning games".

Right? People complaining about the losses to Cleveland & Phoenix are what’s wrong with this fanbase and why I wish I had known what I was getting myself in for when I let the Knicks became the first NA sports team that i rooted for as a kid

Pulling the team up on basketball reference and looking at the ages of the guys in the top 7 for us in minutes per game & total minutes, is so f***ing encouraging alongside our good spot in the tank race...still with really good lotto odds, but not monopolizing the bottom spot and having just how bad we are become a national talking point...and the flashes we are seeing from our kids of what they might be when they grow up.

Hell I’ve started to think that Frank may actually end up a PG down the road, and not just the 3D guard + secondary facilitator, that I was expecting him to cap out as. It’s only come in flashes, but he’s shown when that shot is going for him to give him some confidence, that he can get into the pant and create decent looks for himself & those he dishes to or find room for his jumper pretty comfortably against middle of the road NBA defenders. It could take 2-3 years for those flashes to come together enough to start him as the lead guard on a playoff team with any ambition, and he may always struggle against the best defensive guards, but those flashes have me reassessing just how high his ceiling could be after another offseason of polishing his shot & some time learning from a real NBA PG.

The Knicks have the worst record in the NBA since 2001. We've won one playoff series in that span. They are the Edmonton Oilers of the NBA. Their young talent doesn't match up with the best young talents in the game. They don't tank for talent properly, we won't finish bottom 3.

The Knicks don't get handed franchise players by the NBA. Poor comparison.

This is 2018 soon to be 2019. Lets concentrate on that not the past. It has nothing to do with the present.

Their young talent is developing. Silly to claim it doesn't match up to other teams.
In fact, they have better potential then many NBA teams actually. Most teams don't have franchise game changing players. That's why there's only a select few that are considered championship teams.

THIS season they're tanking properly. Pulling a 97 Spurs. Best player out for the regular season, tank hard and get one of the top picks.

Dude, you make no sense. Maybe you don't know the NBA too well?

Just finish bottom 5, and have at least a 10% chance at getting the top pick. It would be nice to get in bottom 3, and be one of the teams with the 14% chance, but it's not that big of deal if they don't get the worst record now with the odds change in the lottery.

So many people seem to be ignoring the new lotto odds.

Is......is Mudiay good now?
I didn't know much about the guy but I read recently about how he got to the NBA. He was a big time prospect but came from a really poor household, but he couldn't join the NBA until 1 year out of high school so he skipped college and went to China on a 1.2M contract he used to support his mom. Obviously that hurt his development but he says he doesn't regret a thing because his mom was in a real bad spot. So it's a question of if Fizdale can develop him and make up for what he missed by skipping the NCAA

Yup. He committed to SMU but he was supposedly never going to be eligible with the NCAA as well.

I look at his shooting technique & my brain says “oh f*** no”, but then he keeps performing and that stupid hitch doesn’t stop it from going in...so maybe? Buddy needs to improve a lot defensively even if he can score consistently now, but his offense actually helps the team & he doesn’t forget about his team-mates even when scoring more than assisting. So who knows. He’s still young enough to become a capable starter.

I gotta say, luca doncic is the real deal. The kid is an absolute stud.
