LOL Phil still making his sales pitch. It's out of his hands now.

I don't see the LIV format as a moneymaker long-term if the same stars they lured away are off playing on a competing tour. Which means the LIV events will have to be worked into the PGA Tour schedule. I'm thinking 1-4 events a year in the LIV format/presentation, or something, as part of the PGA Tour schedule with a parallel regular tour event on the side that allows the fringe guys and Monday qualifiers their chance to get a W, similar to the old WGC schedule.
yes I left off Phil’s gloat’ish comment about being 6 months ahead of schedule in changing golf….sigh…..Phil….

The lifestyle change makes LIV attractive to the players….I think they will have a place in the world golf landscape, at least while the current guys all under contract for a few more years are all still active and happy. Maybe it continues to grow from there?

I think LIV will play 15 or so events going forward and may at least partially overlap the PGA off-season, (even though there really isn’t much of one)…I think the top LIV guys will all be re-assimilated into the fields for the PGA tour designated events schedule….where they must play in a certain number….so more of a split Tour schedule for them maybe….plus majors and Ryder Cup of course….

Faldo has a point here wrt Ryder Cup

“They're not playing with the same passion and atmosphere as the Ryder Cup.”

uhhh…..thank you Capt Obvious. Country vs Country is what brings the passion in The Ryder Cup.

I like that he makes a point of getting pro golf back in places like Australia. The LIV event was a massive success and I see lots of opportunities like that.

I feel seen

I think I understand why people she knows spend a lot of time on golf courses not taking her calls.

I can walk a course in 2.5hrs if I hustle, 3hrs at a comfortable pace. 4hr rounds feel long to me unless they're in competition. 5hrs is just soul-crushing.

I know she's not talking about guys like me and is directing her ire at the dudes who do basically just take all-day vacations at the course-- including a 30-60 min drive, 10 minute pit stop at the turn and the 19th hole etc.-- but maybe that's their thing, eh?

Some people sit on the beach and just lie there for half the day. Rant about that.

In other golf news, Matsuyama seems to have the full swing yips. Never seen him this discombobulated

“Can”…..but that’s not DC metro golf for the most part. Get out ass crack early, you can get around quick in a lot of places. Wait until 8am/9am, 4.5 pretty typical. And walking? No….not in this area heat and humidity.

I think that was hilarious….she’s right on. The thing I try to avoid is the stay for food/drinks at the end. Golf is a commitment.

The Wizards would be the team to miss out on the studs in a stacked draft, and then win the lottery for the weakest draft in years.

Nothing will change until they change the name. Having the stupidest name and mascot in the league angers the basketball gods.

Wizards is worse than Pelicans?

Ok 2nd worst. Maybe 3rd if you count Magic.

Yes. Pelicans and Magic have at least some connection to the city/region. Wizards is just alliterative.

Yeah but at least the idea of someone who's magical already existed in basketball, a la Magic Johnson.

Pelicans are all over the place. They're not unique to New Orleans. And I don't know about you but I'd rather be a wizard than a pelican.

Well, save one is a real thing, and the other is a player in Lord of the Rings?

The only positive about a weak NBA draft and you are picking towards the bottom is that getting shafted by the horrible lotto system takes the sting out of it.

Jeez never thought they would resign him and were going for epic zard tank. So Poole, Kuzma, Deni, Kispert, Gafford for the main players. I think if they keep Wright as a PG would help. Q. Jackson might be ready to backup PG.

Really like the Kuz deal. Fair contract for him, he seems like a good locker room guy, and he’ll be easy to flip for assets if it comes to that. Having a fourth year maybe isn’t ideal but I’m good with it.

Thought he had a really generally decent clutch year. Didn't force hero balling early in game and showed later in games he could turn it on. But yeah Kuzma/Poole the better they play the better trade asset down the road here.

I thought we were tanking man wtf is this re-signing kuz shit

i mean it's nice to retain a player and see players that actually want to stay here but still. the goal was to tank in 23-24, and then reap the benefits of high draft picks. this ain't it

Kyle Kuzma is not going to be make that much of a difference. Also, it would have been dumb to lose him for free. And they are struggling just to get to the cap floor so they might as well sign a player like Kuz instead of a random free agent.
