@g00n (or anyone)…..know anyone using this?

Considering it. Starting a personal multi-year golf training plan/journey, culminating in a dream trip to the UK for a buddy‘s 50th in 2025. I joined a local place here that gives me unlimited indoor time in Trackman bays…..loving it so far, but just trying to get my golf muscles back right now.

Haven't looked into this system much but I follow a golf-oriented scientist on Twitter who hawks this stuff so much I had to mute him lol

I'm seeing more guys show up at the range with similar gadgets and I guess that's good if it's being done right. If not then you turn in to Roy near the end of Tin Cup, emerging from his trailer with all that crap for "lost and desperate souls" attached to him.

Getting digits is always a good baseline, though. Nice to sanity check some things. But IMO there's no substitute for actual ballflight so an indoor simulator or launch monitor is a partial solution.

Not sure how useful the "portable" options for a few hundred bucks are, but a couple grand for a Flightscope based on what we used to pay years ago when I was operating one. Just check around as I think there are cheaper sellers.

The problem with FS is there are several hidden costs. $1K to get the pro package (which paywalls a lot of crucial data), another $500 if you want the face impact upgrade (which is essentially the same as using impact tape), etc. Still probably not a bad compromise vs the full price of TM.

FS was always a level below Trackman, though.

Comparison with Trackman:

tl;dw: FS reads at first touch and has limited tracking, but TM reads at full compression while tracking entire ballflight. So there's slight difference in numbers on shorter clubs but over 230yds or so you begin to see separation between the two units (3-8yds). Not a whole lot of difference but again ymmv and it's like 1/10th the price.

But for strength training for golf, I don't think there's any substitute for just weight training, flexibility, endurance training, etc. If a weighted club of some kind is needed that's fine.

Not sure if any of that's more helpful than googling. ;)

If I’m GMTS, I am talking with Beal during the exit interview and asking him to request a trade this summer. Then sign and trade Kuzma. Build around KP, the younger guys, and whatever assets you get from the Beal and Kuzma trades which should be significant. And fire Unseld.

The Beal era is done and over. There’s no point in committing $100M/year to KP, Beal, and Kuzma. See if you can ship Beal to Boston for Jalen Brown. Trading Beal and Kuzma for a bunch of assets would be the quickest way to make this team interesting and relevant again.

KP has been impressive this year and he stayed pretty healthy. And I generally like Kuzma's game would be fine keeping him and moving Beal but naturally he'd want to be moved. And most of the big teams already traded a lot of their draft capital so overall kinda depressing. We need some NBA lotto luck.

Awesome. Still my favorite Washington player of all time.
Not much to choose in the past few decades but that’s a good choice. I’m a Wall guy myself. Will always wonder “what if” he didn’t break his wrist in 2015. That injury felt like the beginning of the end and it was right when he was starting to learn how to dominate.

I also wish Chris Weber’s tenure here turned out differently.

I was a agent 0 fan. I went to a playoff game for like $5 when Lebron whispered in his ear and then Gil missed 2 free throws and we choked the series. Good times

Also crazy that was 2006 and LeBron still this good

Wizards are also racing to the bottom. Currently Orlando tied thrm, as is the Pacers.
Trailblazers are one game better on 5th.
Wizards could get 6th unless they can lose out.

Same w Caps. Lose out, maybe 8th.

Wiz are tanking with Beal/Kuzma/KP out. Still more interesting to watch the young players on the Wiz filling in compared to whatever Lavi is doing. Kispert looking like someone to sign. Will not be a defensive stopper but he's been better half way through the season.
