That's what people thought about yugoslavia when they still competed together, but unfortunately for them team unity & cohesion is important.

People just ignore everything. If that country was still a thing they'd probably look more like Serbia than Croatia did for the past 30 years.

Given that only Slovenia has a tradition in ice hockey, which is practically isolated to a single small town, I highly doubt it.

there is some decent croats and serbs. powerhouse was the wrong word, but decent would fit better. on the level of germany, sweden and switzerland.

There really isn't. Outside of Rendulic, there hasn't been one Croat of NHL level, Serbs don't have even that.

You would think it would have changed by now but in the Yugo days there were “quotas” and nonsense like that, the best squad wasn’t always selected. Yugo would probably be more like Serbia post breakup than Croatia with strange squad selections, agents being heavily involved and puppet managers. While Croatian FA is corrupt as hell they tend to f*** around with the domestic league rather than the national team because that’s where the money is, even when they did play around with the NT they managed to qualify and luckily it was only couple years

Isn't it mandatory to release the players? Any player called up and not released wouldn't be able to play / practice during the tournament for their club? I'm not sure it's a better option, except for maybe regarding Covid, but is it any worse in Cameroon than some European countries?

I also read they are having issues with their stadiums

Anyway Klopp is crossing his fingers lol

Algeria vs. Tunisia starting just now (on FS1 in the US) in the final of the FIFA Arab Cup which is essentially a test-run for the upcoming WC; Tunisia with pretty much their strongest selection available as most of their players play domestically anyway, Algeria this is like a B/C team

Qatar won the bronze medal beating Egypt in the third place match, Qatar play some decent football but defensively they are poor and will likely get exposed by most teams in the WC

enjoyable contest.

Mexico lost its appeal so next 2 home games are behind closed doors. Probably not good news for US and Canada since one of those games I against Panama.

I mean of the 3 teams, I feel like it’s worse for Mexico? They are tied on points with Panama?

If Mexico and Panama tie, that would be the best case, as it creates only 2 points from that game instead of 3?
