We havent made the playoffs or done anything yet. Streak is nice, but still a long ways to go. Also, removal of Howson, and hiring of Jarmo may have caused a jolt in the room. Shaken things up a bit. Not sure streak happens without that shake up. I think it put the players on edge, playing with more of a sense of urgency. You notice it with their play on the ice. Big difference in energy between first few games of season and last few

I don't think Mayor Bee is arguing the firing. He's making the point, and I will too, that if for years people say: "Howson is the GM of the Blue Jackets, and the Blue Jackets are bad, ergo Howson is incompetent", then by the same logic: "Howson assembled the Blue Jackets, and they have an 11 game point streak, ergo Howson is a genius."

Neither brand of logic is any good. There are better ways to assess a GM (many of which make Howson look pretty good).
