It's hilarious because the players who have injured our guys in the past are the likes of Marchand and Bennett. They are not phased by Reaves, never have been and never will be. In fact, they'd like Reaves on the ice against them because they'll dominate that shift while talking shit the whole time

Reaves accomplishes nothing. Despite changing GMs 2x in this era, we continue to champion this fourth line tough guy archetype and it's falling just as it did then (Martin, Simmonds, Reaves)

Martin was a great signing at the time, and was good when he was here. For some reason Babcock decided to stick him in the pressbox - but Babcock is known for finding something to hate a player for.

I think a lot has to do with the division they play in - Boston, Tampa, Florida all have or had meatheads, and were successful and the Leafs need protection for Marner, Matthews, etc. How many times were the complaints trumpeted around that the Leafs were too soft, no snarl, etc..... then you have Montreal with guys like XJEFKE and Pezzetta (and yes Reaves did step in and take care of Pezzetta hitting Kampf (?) from behind in one of their games last year.

Alex Nylander doesn't appear to be playing in this game, and I think most would agree that penalties are more impactful than Alex Nylander winning 3 of the 4 random faceoffs he's taken this year. But this seems important to you, so hey, congrats to him for finally getting his career percentage over 40%.
Totally missed the point or avoiding it by deflecting as usual?

Don't waste my time answering.

Faceoffs are perhaps the most overrated stat in hockey. Figure out the difference in actual wins on 45% over 55% in a game, and it aint much.
Yeah, faceoff impact is pretty limited in general, but the guy wasn't even making an argument in good faith anyway. Alex Nylander only has 4 faceoffs. It was just a failed attempt by that guy to make a false equivalency to deflect from Reaves being horrible.

Neither. But you're certainly deflecting right now. And missing the point is what you did in your first response.
Or maybe Berube is smarter then us rando forum posters
He may be smart, but smart people are still human, and don't always make the right decision about everything.

Not sure Reavo has a regular spot when the injured return, but Alex has done nothing so hard to get to riled up. It's so amusing to read though lol.
It didn’t have anything to do with any of the Nylanders. I made an innocent comment that I was surprised that Reaves only had 4 minors and it set them off.
I tried to help them understand but it just made things worse.

Yeah I'm finding it hard to get too worked up about Reaves overthrowing Alex Nylander of all people. The younger Nylander doesn't impress and at the very least a well-rested Reaves should provide some good forechecking ability to the fourth line.

Oh my bad, I don't read it all lol.

For the fourth line he's a better fit. It will be interesting when a couple others return. Pac is closer than I thought and Domi might be ready this weekend.

Reaves will get the Simmonds treatment.
Waived but will stay with the team.
