Wilsby is a good recall. He’s more than just “paid his dues”. He’s a good solid defender. His play will be surprising for those that haven’t actually watched him.

...so is this the post Fabbro move?

Also, where the hell is Stastney??
Stastney was last seen playing a pickup game of hockey up north somewhere. Its only my speculation but that hit he took in the playoffs may have really done a number on his noodle.

Yeah regardless of the cause I think it's pretty unlikely we see Stastney this year. Even if he gets ready to come back at some point it's pretty unlikely he's ready to jump straight into the NHL after seemingly barely playing for several months. Really a bummer for him after working to get into the NHL, but at least he got a solid payday this offseason.

Wilsby is a steady, position type defender, who is going to play more of a defend first game? Correct assessment?

Seems odd to bring up a young dman to sit one in the pressbox. I reckon we need a 7th dman for the road trip though. I reckon we dont want to tie ourselves to a 7th dman long term

I think he’s not really that young anymore. He’s 24 and in his 6th season playing in men’s pro leagues? It’s a good time to bring him up and see if he’s going to be a part of the plans.

I won’t be surprised if he gets in games and looks pretty good sort of the way Stastney did… we weren’t expecting much from Stastney either, his numbers in Milwaukee weren’t flashy, but he quickly won us over.

Can he crash and front the net in the o-zone? Like a power forward? :naughty:

[Translation: does he fit this system?]

You know what’s sad? I do not miss watching this team. Usually a three day break gives me the ick.
I'm even enjoying watching the Ducks more, and they are a horrific hockey club. Least the Kings are solid.

It is remarkable how this club went from creating some...optimism toward end of last season, to some offseason excitement, to just utter apathy and disgust within a month+ of the season start
