And Lekhonen, Andrighetto, and Carr, 7, 9 , 15, were probably the best of the bunch. Similarly we have to expect many of our current group to bust. Struble may be the best of the non-NHL D.

Yep Bogdan has elite skating/mobility and processing speed. He basically always makes the right play, very, very high hockey IQ and great poise overall.. I love the compete level and the defending abilities, not very physical, but really effective with his stick work, gap control ect. He has legit top 4 upside IMO.1. Reinbacher
2. Hutson
3. Mesar
4. Roy
5. Fowler
6. Beck
7. Mailloux
8. Engstrom
Is there any other relevant prospect ?
Absolutely as I really like Struble and Kapanen. The term "relevant" is highly subjective but imo Konyushkov, Heineman, Mesar, Farrell and Xhekaj easily fall under that umbrella but I suppose that all hinges on the way that you interpret "relevant" in the context that you used it. I would interpret it as prospects who still merit a close look as they have a reasonable pathway to full time NHL employment if they continue to progress.1. Reinbacher

I have a crush for Volokhin in net. Xhekaj has become a very intriguing prospect, his talent level is higher than I initially thought, great hands and can reach impressive top speed. He is still a bit raw, but I think he could become a solid third line player down the road, someone who can do alot of things on the ice, including what his older brother does best.
I have Mesar at 3. Konyushkov i have only seen highlights but he could be here. Farrell is an outlier if he makes it. Kapanen too. Heineman i doubt there is more than bottom 6 "upside" but we will see.
Xhekaj i also agree.
I did not count Struble but he is top 3 (in my opinion) if we count him as a prospect.
Havent seen Konyushkov other than highlight but i appreciate your takes on prospect so i will take it as a positive that you like him.
Farrell is an interesting prospect but was way overhyped by many on this board. But hey, I liked Poehling alot and that was clearly a mistake. I will say that if I had ever met Poehling my opinion would have been drastically different as I think he is far less intelligent than I thought he was.Last year, I recall posts on his board favourably comparing Farrell's NCAA season to that of Mathew Knies.
A year later, we see that Knies is the vastly superior player.
And I just don't know if he's quite skilled/dynamic enough to overcome his weaknesses.Farrell is an interesting prospect but was way overhyped by many on this board. I am on the fence as I have always been with Farrell as his lack of size, strength and speed are a concerning combination but the kid has a good hockey mind and nice hands.

No wonder we were mediocre for so long.I opened this thread on the first page and that list hurt to read.
Year end ranking. I graduated Roy and Barron since I don't think they will be back in Laval next year. I thought about leaving Kapanen out since I barely got to see him this year.

Just looked at original list. Lol.. timmins is brutal.I have been working on my rankings, have seen every Hab prospect play a full game so far this year except Hawkey, Sullivan and Evans who I will get to see Saturday night. I didn't include anyone on AHL deals, or guys that have graduated (Tinordi/Pateryn/Condon). I didn't include Hawkey since he's hasn't played in about a year.

So far we have depth and some balance, lacking high end talent overall throughout the system and a lack of defensemen especially LD's.
From the top 25 prospects, we have 2 goalies, 7 defensemen and 16 forwards.
3 1st round picks (Scherbak, McCarron, Juulsen), 4 2nd round picks (DLR, Lehkonen, Fucale, Thomas), 6 3rd round picks (Ghetto, Lernout, Vejdemo, Bozon, Bennett, Crisp), 4 4th round picks (Reway, Nygren, McMillan, Ellis), 3 5th round picks (Hudon, Dietz, Bradley), 1 6th round pick (Grégoire), 1 7th round pick (Addison), 3 undrafted picks (Carr, McNiven, Johnston)

G Jacob Fowler - Boston College Eagles, NCAA (2023, 69th, MTL)
He has played 11 games in the USHL this year and has a .942 SV%, 1.69 GAA, and is 7-2-1. Decent sized kid for his age and is committed to play at Clarkson in the NCAA. He has posted a really strong SV% at every level of hockey he has played so far...forums.hfboards.com
G Jakub Dobes (2020, 136th, MTL)
Didn't see a thread on the Czech goalie, he's slated to join Ohio State next season. At the time of the draft I thought WTF were they doing picking this kid as his stats at least didn't look very promising but the same that scouted him also found Cayden Primeau who also didn't have very...hfboards.mandatory.com
G Emmett Croteau - Clarkson University, NCAA (2022, 162nd, MTL)
Need to see more, so someone else might have better insight on his game at this point. Good size, liked the hockey sense. Didn’t give up rebounds. Too active in net, and I’m not sure he moves great. 2022 draft-eligible though whose already gotten into a few USHL games. Looks like he has...hfboards.mandatory.com
G Quentin Miller - Quebec Remparts, QMJHL (2023, 128th, MTL)
Quentin Miller has looked impressive so far in his rookie season in the Q. 5-0-0 1.20 0.959 He was the only Q goalie ranked on the first NHL CSS list. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/720511/quentin-millerforums.hfboards.com

LD Jayden Struble (2019, 46th, MTL)
Was really impressed by Jayden Struble this season. An explosive puck-moving defenseman who plays with an edge. He was ranked 48th NA skater on NHL Central Scouting list. DOB 2001-08-09 Height 183 cm / 6'0" Weight 88 kg / 194 lbs EP Profile If anyone is interested, here's a quick scouting...hfboards.mandatory.com
D William Trudeau - Charlottetown Islanders, QMJHL (2021, 113th, MTL)
Competitive, hard-hitting defenseman who was showing some nice offensive chops before the QMJHL season pause. 12 points in 14 games this season with a +12 rating. He was picking up steam before the break and is worth keeping an eye on when play resumes.hfboards.mandatory.com
D Logan Mailloux - Laval, AHL (2021, 31st, MTL)
Currently on loan with SK Lejon in the HockeyEttan. 3 points in 6 games. Logan Mailloux at eliteprospects.com Thought I would create a thread since he’s ranked 14th by HockeyProspect.hfboards.mandatory.com
RD Dmitri Kostenko - Spartak Moscow, KHL (2021, 87th, MTL)
Dmitri Kostenko at eliteprospects.com He's 17 in 2 weeks, scored 4+9 in 41 games in his 16 yo MHL season, and he starts his 17 yo season with 2+4 in 4 game. Ridiculous numbers for a defenseman, especially so young. His onetimer at 1:20:00 OT winner at 5:14hfboards.mandatory.com
LD Arber Xhekaj - Kitchener Rangers, OHL (2019 Undrafted Signed by Habs 3 y ELC)
Was going to include him in the 2nd/3rd thread but after reading more about him - and seeing a positive write up by Brock Otten - decided to start a separate thread instead. A lot of things stood out - significant uptick offensively from basically nothing to 17 points as well as 88 pm. But the...hfboards.mandatory.com
LD Lane Hutson - Boston University, NCAA (2022, 62nd, MTL)
Best value pick of the draft IMOhfboards.mandatory.com
D David Reinbacher - EHC Kloten, NL (2023, 5th, MTL)
Expectations are so out of whack when some are saying they'll be disappointed if he turns into McDonough. McDonough is almost 36 and still delivering positive top-4 impact for his team. Habs should celebrate if he turns into McDonoguh... that is a much better than expected outcome for a 5th...forums.hfboards.com
C Riley Kidney - Laval Rocket, AHL (2021, 63rd, MTL)
38 points in 33 games. Ranked 92 by TSN. Riley Kidney at eliteprospects.comhfboards.mandatory.com
LW Sean Farrell - Harvard University, NCAA (2020, 124th, MTL)
Completely overshadowed by the star forwards on his team. Farrell is a good player, and I could see him being picked in the second round next year. He's a smaller playmaking winger who plays a good 200 foot game. He's even been used as a penalty killer at times. His numbers aren't great, but...hfboards.mandatory.com
C Oliver Kapanen - Kalpa, Liiga (2021, 64th, MTL)

Blake Biondi at eliteprospects.com I have a feeling this player could go high in next year draft. Anybody have a scouting report on him? Thanks!hfboards.mandatory.com
LW Luke Tuch - Boston University, NCAA (2020, 47th, MTL)
Brother of Alex Tuch, scored 4 goals and an assist in his 4 games with the U17's so far. Looking to be around a mid 1st in 2020, although hard to predict right now. 6'1 and nearly 200 lbs, already well built and not a bad skater for his size. Good goal-scoring winger. Luke Tuch at...hfboards.mandatory.com
RW Alexander Gordin - Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, KHL (2020, 171st, MTL)
Creating a thread for recent Habs draft pick Alexander Gordin, as I think there is at least some intriguing amount of skill.hfboards.mandatory.com

5'10" 168lbs Committed to University of Minnesotahfboards.mandatory.com
LW Emil Heineman (2020, 43rd, FLA, traded to CGY; traded to MTL)
Deserves a thread at this point. Heineman has come out of nowhere and is destroying J20 Superelit with 22 points (15 goals) in just 10 games. Have only seen very little of him but he's got really nice goal scoring tools, great shot, good hands, good skater and overall good instincts in the...hfboards.mandatory.com
F Xavier Simoneau (2021, 191st, MTL)
How good is Xavier Simoneau? Averaged 2 points in pre-season and seems to be outscoring Parent already after a couple of games in.hfboards.mandatory.com
C Jack Smith - Sioux Falls Stampede, USHL (2020, 102nd, MTL)
Making his USHL debut, slated to join UMD Bulldogs for the '21-'22 season. So far has 2 pts in his first game, scored a nice goal off a turnover he created and fired it over the goalies shoulder. Very smooth skater, seems to have a nice shot.hfboards.mandatory.com

F Filip Mesar - HK Poprad U20, Slovakia U20 (2022, 26th, MTL)
Another 2022 Slovak prospect Filip Mesar. Played last year with u18 team where he had 47 pts in 47 games on one of the lowest scoring teams in the league. Played one game with u20 team. He is now practicing and playing in exhibition’s with Poprad men’s team. Filip Mesar at eliteprospects.comhfboards.mandatory.com
C Owen Beck - Peterborough Petes, OHL (2022, 33rd, MTL)
Owen Beck at eliteprospects.com Another Steelhead i’m shocked there isn’t a thread on. Potential’s 1st round sleeper. Apart of the 3 headed monster of 2022 1st time eligible’s Mississauga has this season along with DeBelBelluz and Lavoie. Guy to watch for sure!hfboards.mandatory.com

In fairness those were all late 1sts and the only late 1st this new regime has taken has been Mesar who hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fireJust looked at original list. Lol.. timmins is brutal.
Where's Roy lol. This is fun, I'll just go top 10 in my eyes:
Reinbacher
Hutson
Beck
Mailloux
Volokhin
Farrell
Mesar
Engstrom
Heineman
Fowler
I think Reinbacher and/or Mailloux make the team out of camp and hutson starts the year in the ahl.
Guhle Mallioux
Matheson Reinbacher
Hutson/Xhekaj Barron/Savard
We have too many guys here. We need to make some room in the back end for forward depth. I would rather sink with these young guys and see how the cards fall.
Graduated I'd imagineWhere's Roy lol.
