Hes been a real complement to their exciting, winning brand of hockey.
Grundstrom is not quite NHL-ready but he’s close.
“He’ll start in Ontario with our American League team,” Futa said when giving his assessment of the 21-year-old Umea native. “The Swedish players are such honest, honest players and he’s a guy we see as a bottom-six, honest hockey player that’s going to play in the National Hockey League. He’s going to produce. He plays a hard, heavy game but he’s got some speed, he’s got some character, he’s got some familiarity with [countryman] Adrian Kempe.
“We had done our homework on him. We liked him in his draft year.”
There is some familiarity with Durzi within the Kings organization, too, as Kings amateur scout Bryan Denney was the director of player personnel with the Owen Sound Attack when Durzi was drafted into the OHL.
“We really know that we’ve got two really high-character young guys that we knew personally and felt comfortable with, and we think that they’re going to be big fits for our future,” Futa added. “There’s still plenty of work to do but we’re comfortable with our development team and stuff that we’re going to be able to have a real good swing – particularly with Durzi.
Haha raided by leafs fans jeeze
Your obsession with me talking about NHL prospects with fans in this case LA Kings fans is not healthy. Seek help. Or just don't click on a thread that has nothing to do with Leafs any more. Grundstrom is a LA King now and he scored in his first NHL game and we are discussing him here on the LA Kings board. That’s what happens when @The Winter Soldier leeches on to a fan base and patronizes them for the sole purpose of cleverly trolling the Leafs.

Never mind all that. Leafnation, we must know: does Muzzin wipe back to front, or front to back?
I mean, these sound identical to the compliments and criticisms of Muzzin even when he was here.
He's not as good as he is at his best, and he's not as bad as he is in his Muzzkill moments. That's why he's not a true #1 and rather a great complementary #2. Can eat big all situations minutes, great breakout passes but will make some puck fumbles, clompy feet, gets beat occasionally. What's inaccurate? The only thing that was out of line was the main board chest thumping thread that declared Muzzin the best trade deadline acquisition ever after his first three games. Don't worry, no one took that one seriously, but it sounds like he's getting some of the same unrealistic expectations in TO that he got in LA, namely that he's expected to pick up the slack for an entire defensive core behind him (Reilly in TO, Doughty in LA) and he's just not THAT good.
The thing I never realized is just how slow Muzzin can be. Yeah, you nailed it. When the trade happened, some people were quick to chest pump. In retrospect, I think McCurdy got it right when he posted this tweet. Price was very high. Right now, Grundstrom is looking very promising, and the Kings still have a first, and Durzi to come. It certainly looks like the Kings got great value after all.
The Kings need more young honest, honest, hockey players right now. Our Stanley Cup vets seem a bit jaded right now, or it could be that time has just passed them by. It's probably some of both. Here is a good read on Futa's take on the return the Kings got in the trade. Why they liked Grundstrom and why they possibly wanted Durzi if reports are correct were not high on Lilegren.

Which is too bad because as a fan I loved Ray as a KingKeep in mind Ferraro HATED his time in L.A. I've always felt any critiques of L.A. from Ferraro come tinted by that.
I feel sorry for you man, I truly do
Exactly. If you have never sat on a solid gold bidet, I highly recommend it.bidet

This was a step in the right direction for Blake. Muzzin is a very good defenseman, but the Kings weren't going anywhere with him on the roster, and Muzzin needs a new contract after the 2019-20 season. This is what should have been done with a few more of the Stanley Cup vets while they still held trade value.
The thing you have to recognize is Muzzin will largely go unnoticed when he is playing well. When he screws up, it will be noticed by everyone.I agree. The chemistry has to change. Sometimes younger players do this. I think more of these type of infusions onto the roster are going to do the vets some good if Doughty's reaction to Grundstrom's first NHL goal is any indication.
One thing I am learning reading the Muzzin posts. I think @Raccoon Jesus nailed it. He can be good, he can be bad, he is just a polarizing player because he from my views has struggled, after coming in right after the trade and looking good. Tonight he plays TB. A team that can expose him. Tonight will be a good test for Muzzin.
I think Doughty was more excited on the goal than Carl was.
