For Blackhawks
Get out of Jones' deal without retention. Pick up a center to put behind bedard. The contract for stephenson is going to age horribly but the annual average is quite a bit lower than jones. Grubauer is the price for getting out of Jones' deal without retention. Can bury him or give him a shot to try and rebuild his value.

For Kraken:
The stephenson deal is not great. Its not in the jones tier but its close. This allows seattle to give Wright a top 6 opportunity while also opening up a spot for Catton for when he is ready. Essentially it moves the bad contract from center to rd where the bad contract can be slightly more justified since there is a need. Mikheyev is there to balance salaries but allows seattle to get cap relief one season sooner.

I wouldn't take Seth Jones for free with 90% retention if it was possible.

You would make a very bad GM.

...eh, I agree he's probably an upgrade on Manson; that guy always looks like he just chases hits around the ice and then gets hurt when he hits someone...

Girard is solid defensively. You pretty much hit the nail on the head with Manson. He's underrated offensively but overrated defensively. Physical yes, but questionable hockey sense and positioning. But on the flip side is a good skater and transition guy.

He's had a tough year. But even the year Colorado won the cup, he only played 3rd pairing minutes in the WCF-SCF (15:51 ATOI during that stretch, which included three overtime games).

That's not relevant. Seth Jones would sprint across the prairies if he could get traded to Colorado. He's dying to get out Chicago, he's made it abundantly clear. He's even from Colorado. Stop bringing up his NMC.

I know he's in the rumors but he has not publicly requested a trade. Those are facts. Look, I'm not here to ruin your fun. I realize this is a forum but if you are going to be sour, why bother responding? Should I be giving a sarcastic response like "Stop denying the NMCs existent."?
