Will Gallant keep Kakko and Laf with Mika? Please give them a legit shot to stick together.
Sure, Binnington was atrocious but the 2 points don’t count any less bc it was against a sieve.
Shooting from distance was big, they need to do more of that. Traffic in front and shots from the point is a way to get it done when the fancy plays aren’t there.
The third period had a noticeable jump in energy. They were so lethargic in the first two but they finally woke up. The Blues helped the Rangers by sucking but you still have to pounce in them. They need to channel that going forward please.
Just win, at this point the how doesn’t matter. String some wins together and the vibes will be much better in the room. They need to find some consistency. Hopefully this game was a release valve for the frustration.

A win is a win, but it just so happens that St. Louis is even more of a mess than we are. They should've dealt ROR and Tarasenko this past summer when they had more value as soon as they gave those massive contracts to Kyrou and Thomas.

It really says something about the state of your team and season when you need a 3rd period comeback against Jordan f**king Binnington and a team that has given up 4 goals in 6 straight games to save your coaches job, but here we are.
I'm convinced if not for that 3rd period, that might've sealed Gallants fate, whether it had been prior to thw Vegas, Colorado, Toronto, NJ gauntlet, during or after it. This would have been the game that sealed his fate.
For the love of god, keep Laf and Kakko with Mika. Just keep the lines.

Kakko is cursed but that 4th goal doesn’t happen without him. He does the work, immediate Laf turnover, he does the work again, Laf gets a point.
Good for Laf cause we need him to get his confidence up too, but everyone watching knows why that play happened. I just want a top line that doesn’t give up 3 goals. We have that now.

That's a great win to get. Hopefully they can build off of it. The only unnerving thing about tonight is that if it were anyway but "can't stop a beach ball Binnington" we probably would've been cooked again.

This game changes nothing. Gallant will most likely go back to his BS lines and ice time distribution. They're going to get embarrassed by Vegas and Colorado.

I gave Trouba a selection. He called his team out last game and they responded. I thought he played well too.
Also for all the heat he’s gotten, I like that he put Laf and Kakko on the 1st line and essentially told them to go win the game. They both responded.
I remember a few years ago Buch was absolutely snake bit, then he eventually “got the monkey off his back” and he took off. Kakko reminds me of that right now. He’s doing everything right. Let him play and get through it and he’ll be fine. He was great with Laf and Zib.

Also, let’s get rid of the very popular “you all know more than our head coach from your couch” sarcasm. How many people wanted this first line? How many were screaming for a change? We’ve been awful since he made the changes he made in the first place. I have no confidence in him to not screw this up again the first chance he gets. If the GG fans are honest, they feel the same way.

Kakko worked his ass off tonight and couldn't steal a point. Laf still looked like shit, but a stopped clock is right twice a day, or in Laf's case, every 4-5 games.
