True, I saw all three Forum shows, and the better one was the first. 4 hours non stop. The crowd wouldn't stop applauding. We freaked out Plant with the lit match thing. Was the first time he'd seen it.
4 hours? they played all they had? that is way too long for me. Were they always baked when playing? Seen some bands and they must have been as the music was indiscernible.

Sony didn't get their name from a pig farmer and sanyo not from a nurse.

They were still relatively unknown, just enough to fill the forum, but it was their first NA Tour. Initially the show was 2 hours, but they kept coming back for encores as the crowd wouldn't stop cheering. They did a lot of covers and old rock and roll.

I had older siblings that saw them a few times at the Forum, said the same thing, poor sound quality, but that was the norm more or less back then I suppose.:dunno:
At the Forum the craziest show was a Black Sabbath one. It started super late and when it was over, the lights came on and a riot ensued and they had to bring the band back.Met up with a bunch of guys we went with after the show in pigeon park? and some missed the last part of the show cause they thought it was over and a guy had a piece of a red seat backrest:laugh::help:

Roger has an awesome voice. Saw an interview with Dan Rather where he said always made sure to enunciate every word he sung.

Thanks for the Pigeon Park reference. Haven't heard that in decades.
He did indeed powerful, but as you noted, clear. Don't know that much about him but thought decades ago he had some sort of issue with his voice or vocal cord that suggested he would not be able to sing, turned out ok either way. I do remember he was on an episode of the original CSI and was the villain. Turns out he can act fine BTW.
Thought it was called Pigeon park, but was not certain. At that park prior to a Who concert in the 70's,there was quite a scene with 2 guys going at each other with broken bottles,no harm done though.
Trivia question, who did Pete Townsend want to replace Keith moon with?

I'm not sure but I remember hearing Phil Collins.

I'm sure Pigeon Park was named by concertgoers.

That's all I've ever know it to be,but it must have a real name,@peate probably knows:dunno:
Townsend wanted Cesar Zuiderwijk from Golden Earring, but he declined.

Cabot square is the only designation I know. Never heard it called pigeon..
Cabot square as it turns out was know as pigeon park upon some keyboard surfing. A little surprised that was unfamiliar to you. You went to many shows at the Forum right?

It was also called Le Parc Closse by the French, as was the next street east. Avenue Lambert - Closse.

Must be a different time period.

My Forum shows range from 1968 to 74-75 was mostly rock from that era. I think the Stones was the last of the big acts I went to see there. (or maybe Johnny Winter).

Then I only went to see Diane Dufresne, the greatest live act from Québec. She did her shows in 2 parts. One was Hollywood, Oct 30th and the next night, Hallowe'en. Attendance was disguised in the most outrageous and spectacular fashion. She repeated a few years later with Dame de Pique, Dame de Cœur. One night was heavy and rock, the next, smoother and more relaxed. Superb.

A few years later, she became the first Québecois artist to play at the Big O. La Magie Rose. Most of the audience, all 59,580 was dressed in pink.

Did you edit as when originally viewed it was a mix of upper and lower case letters and suddenly POOF looks proper,WTF?:laugh:

I know Closse well, the Moustache was there. Perhaps it was referred to differently depending on language?:dunno:

I can't type straight due to physical limitations, and I used to be soo good at it too. I hit post by accident and it looked like what you saw before I had a chance to edit.

Well I see now that what you had originally wrote has grown substantially and previously what was then changed shows no edit. Starting to think the beer and the blunt is toying with me:laugh:

I see, well that may be why the name differed from what you knew as those years were not ''my time''

I heard her name and was she not married to Corey Hart?:dunno: Can't say I know/knew any of her music, what's her biggest hit?

That was Julie Masse.

The one song that played often was "Les hauts et les bas d'une hôtesse de l'air". She wasn't really very commercial and few of her songs played on the radio.

Quebecois chanteurs is not a forte of mine. Certainly not commercial but was expecting more ''pop''. Don't think I ever heard any of her stuff but maybe in the elevator or the waiting room at the dentist:dunno:
