Do you believe Suzuki and Caufield would be scoring as much if Bergevin/Ducharme were still in charge?

I know this was directed at someone else, but I'll speak for myself here. I was not a Bergevin fan. He did a terrible job on so many things. I do, however, think there were things he was good at. That doesn't change my opinion about whether he was a good GM or not. I wanted him gone. I am just acknowledging that, in hindsight, I think he had certain talents that could have served a team well if he played some smaller role. I don't think he should have been in charge at all.

I'm really impressed by MSL. I never tought a coach could change a mediocre team into a much much better team. In every aspects of the game he improved the team. Mentally, strategy, learning, analysing, everything !
Further proving my theory of

Dinosaurs obsessed with vets + grit = garbage
Young guys in their 20's/30's obsessed with analytics and advanced stats = garbage
Former players in their 40's/50's = best coaches

That was a very strong game. No complaints about anything.

Guhle...showing his offense. Defacto our top D.

X...two mistakes but overall, getting better and better.

Dach...wow, he's the real deal as a top pick.

CC...he's the most dangerous scorer since the Flower?

Suzuki...we finally got to go back jn our history to find such a talent at center.

It's starting to look like the playoffs are a real possibility.

Agree. I think to priorize the Ds is more important. It's easyer to replace forwards from the Rockets. Too bad for Pezzetta because I liked his energy and his general attitude.
It's not just that, I think they will keep Wideman up just because he's a glue guy in the room.

How old was Kovalev? How old is Suzuki now?
Compare both years and tell me witch year have the most promising upcoming years.

Kovalev was super talented but he only broke 40 goals once and had a few years of thirties. I think Suzuki is going to be a better, more consistent player than Kovalev. Kovalev was tough to coach. Kovalev didn't always play well. But Kovalev had some sick skills. Kovalev could almost walk across the other team's blueline. No speed required. And it wasn't just the stick handling. He must have been incredibly strong cuz he could guard the puck and hold other players off while barely skating. I think more than one past hockey player has said that Kovalev was one of the most talented hockey players they have ever seen. But the numbers never translated.

In a thread before the season I said I believe this team could push as a bubble team. Now I am not saying their current record makes my prediction right but considering the scoffing from certain posters I’d love to find it that post and the guys who ragged on me
I didn't say bubble but I said they wouldn't be a bottom 5 lottery team like everyone and their grandma had them pencilled in as...wasn't expecting them to push for wild card spot tho

Yeah, that was incredible. But that was once on 4 games. He could be invisible for 3 games.
Suzuki is present every game. He don't score every game but it's very rare we can say he's been invisible.
He make his wingers good, he sees the ice and the play. Kovalev was playing like he can do everything by himself and he did it, some times. He was so strong and so highly skilled. He made fans think hockey was all about individual plays, like Subban in his prime.

Today I'm happy with Suzuki because he plays a team game. Hockey is a team sport. It's a system and a fast executed chess game.

Hard to believe they might actually make the playoffs, but some of the reasons we are supposed to be bad are just not materializing.

Hoffman is still a bum, but he's probably still going to score 25ish goals, Anderson too. And frankly Slafkovsky might very well hit 20 as well. It's not world beating but it is secondary scoring which is supposed to be one of the weak links that was going to sink the team.

With Dach it seems even less likely that Suzuki & Caufield will cool off significantly so even if the D hit a wall or the goalies cool down we seem like we have the guns to actually win those high scoring games. And most important is they seem to have the mental fortitude to comeback in games. This game was the perfect example of that, in years past those Pittsburgh goals would've completly demoralized the team.

Still think they are outside the playoffs looking in by the end of the season, but I also wouldn't bet against them since they are surprising in many different ways. Not least that they are actually really fun to watch!

You forgot to mention that they will only get better moving forward as it's the young guys pushing it.
