Not sure what got into Savard this season but he's been playing some damn good hockey and I really like it.

It's like with Edmundson out to start this season he knew he had to step up and show these young dmen what it takes to play in the NHL and he's been doing a damn good job of doing that and showing great veteran leadership so far. Good stuff.

Savard, like the rest of the Habs last year were coming off an insanely short off season.

It's possible that he finally had enough time to recoop over this long summer.

The Bedard dream keeps on moving further and further away, but damn it this team makes me forget about the draft sometimes.

What a treat to watch this young team play this year. Suzuki is going to be an amazing center for years to come. So much poise when he's in the offensive zone. And my god Dach with the beautiful pass at the end to Hoffman.

Can't wait for next game for Slaf to be back!

i think my calculator's broken, it's telling me Suzuki's on pace for 54G
Just crazy eh? Thinking we may en up having 2 40 goals scorers in the team this year? Oh and add the 2 potential 30+ points Defs in Ghule and Xhekaj and who know what Matheson will be able to bring... i love the wins, i would've love to win a top 5 draft choice but... i want hope and what we see is pure sparkling rainbow from the core of the future. Bottom 6 will change a lot on the next 2 years and having cash and a team with hope at free agent will be a game changer.

I am not saying this to defend Bergevin. I thought he did some terrible stuff as GM. But a lot of these guys are Bergevin era. Guhle, Xhekaj, etc. I think Bergevin was not a good GM, but he wasn't totally stupid either.
however those guys are developing without mb and his shitty development team or lackthereoff.
Caufield was also their pick, and he had 1 goal un MB and his crew.
So sorry but no credit from me

Nowhere land
Still can't believe that the so called experts didn't even list my man Xhekaj as a habs top prospect. I thought that he could have played for us last year and here he is looking better with each game he plays.
In my book, he is part of our new core of players. I don't care where he was draft or not draft at all and was working at Costco. He's there with us and he's part of our team.

Yeah it looked like he was just really out of shape to start last season from the long cup run and short off season and likely partying far too much after winning the cup and I don't blame him.

He's been a completely different player to start this season compared to the start of last season for sure.

Could this team actually make the playoffs? We’re basically in a wild card spot right now.

December will be tough. There's 11 road games. A Pacific Division trip (Calg, Edm, Vanc & Seattle). Then a Central Division trip (Arizona, Colorado & Dallas), then finally our annual post-Christmas southeast Division trip (TB, Fla, Nashville & Washington). ALL on the road.

Our 4 measly home games are against (TB, Calg, LAK & ANA. )

There's also a trip to Ottawa in there.

That's a tough schedule. Basically, we'll know more January 4th, 2023.

No one cares
In some of these games, I actually think Dadonov has had some really good shifts. It never seems to amount to anything though. And he has had some terrible games, too. But I thought he was alright tonight.
If he were to get a few points we would see more from him ala Hoffman. He is a talented player but is having a hard time fitting in.

I think so too. He might have been not 100%. Nobody had a chance to truly rest and train in a well ordered way last year. Gallagher was the most evident but i feel Savard came in refreshed and ready this year. He indeed play really well, definitely top 4.

No that's the thing. I am not defending the job he did. I didn't like him as a GM, and I was someone who wanted him gone for years. But at the same time it's not like these guys were totally dumb about hockey either. They were able to spot some really good players. Guys like Caufield or Danault... etc. Like I think in some smaller capacity Bergevin could be an asset to a team. He never should have been a GM, imo. He shouldn't have been involved in any of the business or contracts. And he should not have been the guy pulling the trigger, or overseeing the development of players. I guess in hindsight I am giving him credit that there were things he was good at.
