Jake Allen has played 53 games as a Hab and people apparently think he’s worth a first rounder based on his incredibly pedestrian numbers over that time, so I wouldn’t be brushing off the sample size that quickly
I don't think Allen is your answer. Oilers too cheap with their picks and prospects won't trade them for good goalie and good defenseman. To put over top. They are just wasting McDavid and Leon prime years

Oilers add those pieces be all in for 5 to 10 years. Then usually a key UFA or two will sign there at cut rate because they want to play for a Cup. Plus play with McFavid. You want to move away from the Keith, Smith, K contracts. Give somebody a 2nd to take Keith's if you have to. Trade your first and best prospects for top goalie and top defenseman. After Cup runs for 5 years you trade off what's left and get your first picks back.

Say that to your PGT creator who is comparing Suzuki to god and 19 others liking it .. happy times in Habville indeed... I actually meant high of winning plenty under your new coach and not just this game.

Great job lifting a hyperbolic superlative meant solely for in-forum consumption and repackaging it as an affront to your sensibilities. :eyeroll:

Every fan forum produces that kind of banter — it’s neither a precedent nor the basis of an argument. There is really no need to stoop as low as you have when your own fan base is living in glass houses.

First, Allen is better than Koskinen, hands down. Secondly, we are not the team in trouble, you guys are, big time. So if no interest from your side to adress your goalie and defense situation, thats up to you, pretty sure MCDrai disagree on the matter... ;)

Its simple, you either watch the ship sinking or you do something while its still time. But you wont get quality players for free, THAT is the reality.

We will ship Chairot elsewhere for a 1st.

First, Allen is NOT better than Koskinen. Get that through your head.

Second, the Oilers shouldn't make a bad deal just because fans of other teams think they should just to benefit their favorite organization. What a childish way of looking at the world.

Lastly, very cool Ship Chiarot for whatever you can get.

In a redraft I think Bourgault goes around 12 to 15 OA maybe even sooner . Edmonton is also currently out of a playoff spot . No GM in NHL history would give up 2 mid 1st for Jake Allen and Chiarot with 1 first possible being higher . Counter offer . Kassian + Koskinen for Price at 50% if he coming back and can play . Helps you , Helps us . You can re sign Koskinen and run with Koskinen - Allen after all it's what you want us to run with .
So instead of Price at 10M we have Koskinen and Kassian at 12M? And you get Price at 5M...How is that any good for us?

If you add the 50% left retain on price to Kassian and Kostinen you have $12M

Well 7M for Kassian + Koskinen + 5M for Price retention = 12M

So, you're signing Koskinen ? I do not see why that would be the case.

There is also no chance the Habs retain on Price for that amount and for that term. So let's try and be real here a little bit, ok fellas?

Last I checked, I replied to your proposal... so maybe you should try to be real, fella?
I agree, no way we retain half on Price, but specially not for 2 cap dumps. You also have to assume Price will end up on LTIR before the end of his contract, in which case, the salary retain doesn't go on LTIR for the Habs.

He shouldn't piss away top assets for mid level replacements. That won't help the Oilers in the short term or the long term.

1st + Bourgault should be used for a legit starter, not a back up and a pending UFA mid pairing guy.

The Oilers need a starter. Retaining on Allen or Chairot doesn't turn them into players the Oilers need.

Now it is "several 1sts"?

These are all my posts in this thread. what proposal are you talking about? I've been pretty consistent on stating Allen and Chiarot are not what the Oilers need or are willing to trade for. When I suggest it would be Price for two cap dumps?

Just realised it was another poster who proposed kassian + koskinen for price at 50%. Thought it was you because you responded to the post I quoted

Whomever floated that trade proposal is full of beans. Nonsense.

Unless Chiarot is willing to sign an extension AND he could be had for a reasonable price AND the Oilers could send back some equalizing cap dollars there is just no trade to be made between these two teams.

Yeah, the team who's going to trade for Chiarot is a sure thing for the playoffs or a GM wanting to make a push for it (probably a mistake). Unfortunately the Oilers aren't that this year, but maybe their dinosaur GM thinks otherwise :naughty:
