No one expected Mailloux to be in MTL full time this year. Nemec, on the other hand, was supposed to be a lock for NJ’s top-4, if not top pairing. Meanwhile, he’s getting healthy scratched and lost his roster spot to Jonathan Kovacevic, who MTL shipped out for a 4th round pick.
Nemec was supposed to be on the 3rd pairing with Dillon. Dougie & Siegs and Luke & Pesce were supposed to be top 4, but injuries made the team have to shuffle the parings.

Kovy & Siegs have been fantastic together. Not the Devils fault that Montreal undervalued that asset. Maybe he reverts back, I hope he doesn't.

Nemec is a big piece of the team going forward, he's going nowhere.

Every single line is wildly incorrect. I’m not going to waste time explaining why each sentence is wrong, but someone else can.
You can’t; that’s why. I’ll bring up each line/assertion for everyone to see then, since you want to double down on your BS.

I said the Devils underachieved and missed the playoffs last year. That’s a fact.

I said Nemec is watching games from the press box right now. That’s a fact.

I said that Kovacevic is currently playing in the Devil’s top-4, after being shipped out of MTL for nothing. That’s a fact.

I said Mailloux’s stock has risen from 31st in his draft class. That’s a fact.

I said Nemec’s stock has fallen from 2nd overall in his draft class. That’s a fact.

I said there’s a difference in expectations between a 2nd overall pick and a 31st overall pick. That’s a fact.

I said that Nemec and Mailloux are both in the same boat currently, i.e., not good enough to play with the big club. That’s a fact.

Which of the above facts do you disagree with? Explain.

Well We don't have someone with Mcleod's and Foote's specialization anymore so Mailloux makes sense.

/sarcasm

No Thank You.

Edit- Actually I will go in depth

-Mailloux would be in the exact position as Nemec is and would probably be in the AHL. Doesn't help the team now
- Flames 1st doesn't help the team now
-Michael Hage is a great prospect but he's 2 years away, doesn't help now at all.

If The Devils wanted Mailloux they would have picked him in the draft two picks earlier instead of Stillman. Obviously Mailloux was more talented then a couple of the prospects picked before him but a lot of teams had him on a DND list.

Based on this.... what will Reinbacher cost?

Ducks are a little light on RHD...

mailloux is nearly a full year older than nemec, was drafted one year earlier. him needing time to develop is increasing his value.

nemec on the other hand had a great rookie season last year and is already ahead of mailloux, but is now struggling to get playing time over newly acquired veterans.

looks like your analysis is purely driven by the color of the jersey.

Montreal never sell the admittedly talented Dvorak more three players I said were part of the trade for the talent Nemec whom refusal? After the downhill slope of this year's season, it is finally a change of scenery for Nemec, he just has to change the team address Nemec gets in the Canadiens and gets more time on the ice. Nemec has lost his talent in the Devils. Time to reunite with, among others. Slafkovsky then an injury-free Finnish sniper Laine temporarily Laine injured.

I know you thought this was going to be some kind of gotcha, but you picked the wrong Habs fan for this one. I don’t like Reinbacher and never did. Hated the pick the moment it was announced.

Honestly, you won't like the answer. Zegras doesn't fit our needs. McTavish would require an add (from Montreal) and I'm certain Ducks wouldn't consider it. None of your d-men are particularly enticing compared to just keeping Reinbacher. Carlsson, I won't even go there. Gauthier the same. Sennecke would interest us, but again, Ducks wouldn't. I just don't see a realistic deal between our teams.

Utterly and completely moronic — every word. Much of it not even worth attempting to respond to.

I’ll just give you one little nugget: Johnathan Kovacevic has been better than every single player on your team. He’s been the best defenseman on the Devils. The Devils also have Dougie Hamilton and signed Brett Pesce. Simon Nemec also suffered an injury in international play and started the season on a R-R pairing with a rookie.

I’ll let you try to comprehend some of that.

I didn't know sending a player back to the AHL because he couldn't stick with the Hab's made their stock rise.
Nemec isn't playing. I guess his stock has dropped. Mailloux was only an injury call up. He has missed a lot of time and needs time to develop.

Kovacevic is nothing. His play won't last. If Nemec can't beat him out NJ is in trouble.

Again, he’s been better than every single player on your team. That he’s “nothing” or that his play will fall off is irrelevant to this conversation. It would be malpractice to bench him while he’s playing this well.

Nobody is expecting Kovacevic to maintain this. (Hence why nemec isn't available)

But at this point, the results he has put up have been elite.

I don’t think Montreal should go for yet another young D. If anything, I want an established top 4 RHD in his prime.

Mailloux, a first and Hage is also insane value to give up for any player - let alone one who hasn’t established himself yet
it his either Mailloux OR CGY first not both

I wonder how far Hutson would be ahead in the Calder race if he had Kovacevic instead of Savard.

MTL : Logan Mailloux/CGY first + Micheal Hage
for
NJ : Simon Nemec, Not sure about his value atm.

Nemec seems to have a hard time making the team atm.
Nemec would sure make the team in MTL right now with is buddy Slaf.
Micheal Hage is a great piece here and Mailloux has good potential as well.
CGY first should be a mid first pick.
Nemec just hasn't established himself enough in the NHL at this point to garner such a return from a rebuilding team . Mailloux still has a chance , however slim of having the better career of the two and if you think Hage reaches his potential that's a minimum of a top six center and there's no telling what that first can be turned into . Just too much risk for the Habs right now , Devils probably pass as well .
